To actually download the giveaway software.</p> <p>2. To verify the setup or activation is being being run prior to the Giveaway expiry.</p> <p>Thats all - the paranoid privacy information gathering conspiracy on behalf of the GOTD team I believe is unfounded.</p> <p>However for the rare individual giveaway authors who require an email address or contact details to be provided before providing a setup code - I suggest using fictional details or temporary email account. I guess that is so Info can be gathered on the person Activating a program.
