Quite a few of the giveaways are free standing. When you transfer progs from one hard drive to another the only thing that doesn't get copied is the registry were all the reg codes are stored. So any program that has a reg file stored in the registry will no longer work as a full version. The only way to find out which still work i to tranfer and check. The good news is that all of the 'double games' are free standing, lol.

debbieg, maybe you can pick up a spare HD to copy the one that's dying to? Heard that sometimes if a hard drive is put in the freezer for awhile, sometimes you can get it to work for awhile to hopefully capture what it's got on it.

Thanks for the help suzzyqz and copmom and goodgotd. I understand about the rule #7 hotdoge3, no need to be so mean about it, sometimes there are ways to do things others have found that can be shared! So I guess there isn't much chance to move things. I had to get a new computer because the hard drive is giving up the ghost in my old one. I was just hoping upon hope some computer wizard would have the magical answer for me. Thanks for the info.

debbieg.. I think what suzzyqz is advising is good advice to follwo. I've always had 2 hard drives in my machines. You can even take the hard drive from the old machine and install it inside an external HD case to use that way if you can't hook up the older one. Like my older one is an IDE and this machine is SATA, so couldn't install the older one, but can run as an external.

debbieg
I recently built a new computer with XP and my old computer was win2k. I copied my win2k hard drive to an external drive. Some of the programs from here still work. NO alawar will work. Can you use your old drive as an extra internal drive? That's probably the best way to get some to work.

I have a new computer and need to move my old games and programs from game/giveaway to it. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? I have such great things in my old computer and don't want to loose them.
