ive been wondering if i couldnt use a combination of 2 products, seeing as nod32 is the best AV.
the question i ask now is which is the best firewall, so i can use in combination with nod32 ?

i had a look at nod32, but the equivalent is its ESET Smart Security,
which hasnt gotten very good reviews, excluind obviously the anti-virus...

That's amore logical explanation. I get quite a lot of packages from the US and do see that the postage is quite expensive. You'd think they would give something else. Then again, I'm quite happy with my fileplanet subscription. I don't actually use all the features, only the downloads and the occasional beta test. I only went for ayears subscription this year which gave you a free copy of Tom Clancy's Advanced Warfighter 2, which was great, but I'd just bought it a month before, lol. They always ave something decent as a taster. I download a lot from the internet, so having a subscription has saved many hours of waiting in cues etc.

of course Kaspersky.... I don't use that one.

Stephen - as I'm sitting on the other side of the big pond (in Australia) I share the same grief over being ineligible for the free magazine subscriptions. I think one of the reasons is simply postage/freight costs. Domestic postage within continental United States is a lot cheaper than international surface or air mail.

Quite possibly the free distribution of the magazines within the USA is being subsidized by local advertisers who probably have less to gain from international readership.

So we miss out - or end up paying up to $25 for a current issue of a gaming mag with cover DVD.

sergio
As for getting the brush off from the KIS staff - consider giving NOD32 a trial (KIS and NOD32 are together considered the best available AV) their online ordering is quite possibly more friendly. Link: NOD32

I to hhave come across this problem when wanting to buy a product via the internet. Or as in the case of my subscription to Fileplanet, you get what are called hit points which can be exchanged for downloadable games. My first big subscription netted me 3000 hit points. There were loads of great games on offer such as games from the Rainbow series, some flt simulators and more such as marine park empire and some of the hitman seres. Unfortunately many of the games were resricted to te US and on top of that, the subscription offer included subscription to two magazines of youe choice from several decent titles, however these also were limited to the US. I was quite furious at first because tought it was really unfair that someone else could get so much more for the same subscripton. however it was pointed out to me that it was a matter of licencing. Many of the games which had their origins in the US could not be liceneced to sell via the internet. As for the magazine subscriptions, I never got a decent answer about those. It may be that KIS 2009 (what is it by the way???) as not been licenced in your country yet.

I hope the developer replies to you.

regards

Thanks for the info but that offer is no longer valid.
i guess i can try and pretend to be from a 3rd world country and see if i can make it to the payment section that doesnt need a Country.
Otherwise i am left with very little options (buy from another company) as they didnt even reply to my post about not wanting me as a client LOL

Obrigado na mesma.

well, here is the story.
i tried to buy KIS 2009, went to the payment section only to find that from my country i could not buy it, yet 3rd world countries could.

having lost my temper yesterday, i sent them this email:

Dear Sir
I tried to buy KIS 2009 only to find out that you will not sell it to my country.
DO you prefer that i pirate your software instead of having me as a client ?
I assume you are intelligent enough to prefer me as a client.

TO DATE, no answer...
