Thanks Stephen. You've given me some ideas so I'm going to try and pick at it a little more. If I come up with something I'll update. I know it seems like a lot of trouble to go through for one game but I really enjoy playing this one and there are very few that I can say that about. Thanks again!

Hi heidihopes.

Sorry, I meant to post something about this yesterday. After reading your comments above I decided to give the editor a once over and realized quickly that you can't actually create totally new levels. However you can create new levels by editing the ones that are already there. you will notice at the top left of the editor that there is a left right arrow key where it says level. If you scroll through the levels you'll see that the level board that is brough up onto the edito is the actual level that comes with the game. You can totally change this to make a new level, but you have to play it in the actual game. unfortunately theres no facility to play edited levels seperately. The good thing is that you can make a copy of the games folder and paste it to another location, then create a shortcut. You can then rename this to custom levels r something appropriate. That way you retain the original game and the potential to edit and create as many levels as there are in the game. If you're really keen and want to make more, just make more copies of the original folder. All of them will work from the same registry entry. (though I seem to remember that the game is a standalone one anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Once you realize that you're editing the actual games levels it's then easy to figure out what to do. By clicking on the first symbol that looks like a light grey circle, you can then change the pipe system in that particular level by left clicking repeatedly on whichever pipes you want to change. Doing this scrolls through the different types of pipe that are available. You can also add water supplies via this . The rest of the symbols (which represent objects such as rocks and foliage) can be added to the level by left clicking on the symbol then left clicking on the level board. Along the top of the editor are the differnt bonuses you can add to the level. If you click on one of the bonuses you can then type in the number you want for that level. To the top left just below the zone and level info you'll find two flower databases Clicking on these will add different flowers to the level. Each flower type grows at a different rate and has different water requirements. ou'l have to figure that out for your self. It really isn't that hard to play around with the editor and see what the results are. just do as I suggest and create a copy of the original folder. If you want to keep the folder in the same place as the original you'll have to rename it of course. You should even be able to work from a memory stick i you want.

I'd write a tutorial, but I have too many projects on the go to start anything else at the moment. sorry. I hope the above is helpful.

Regards

Stephen

p.s.

I'd not actually read your last post, which indicates that you've already realized about the lack of true custom levels.

There may be a way to add the levels to the original. I've checked te games folder and it looks like once you've created the edited levels, just rename them then copy and paste them to the original games folder:

The last original level is labelled 59, so you could label the customized one from 60 onwards. Once you've done this transfer them to the following path (assuming you've installed the game to the default path. Though I've not checked to see if this works. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. :) It's just a long winded way of doing things.

If anyone does create any new levels perhaps thy could upload them to an ftp and then post download details here so that we can all share their creations. Each level is only 2.78Kb in size so it would take less than a second to upload each level you create. :)

C:\.....\Bloom\data\level\

Thanks robm. I will try that. I have been tinkering with it and I see that you have to save whatever changes you make individually on each of the 60 levels. You could really make a new game each time but my problem now is I don't completely understand what I'm changing. There's "flower level" and this page with locks and circles that I just can't get a grip on. I know whiterabbit's reveiw of the game said that with some trial and error most people will learn how to use it but I guess I am not one of "most people." ;)

Thanks for the tip.

Hello Hedihopes, I am sorry that I am not able to help you as I didn't download this game. But I do have a suggestion.

Perhaps you could try Whiterabbit aka Stephen on the weekends as that is when he is mostly here (for obvious reasons). Just add to any active thread that he has initiated or the latest review and hopefully he can assist you there. I dont think he would mind if it is about a different game as he likes to help. Good Luck.

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find it. I really enjoy the Bloom game and have nearly finished all of the levels. I was hoping to change it up a bit using the "editor" that comes with it but I have tried over and over again to figure it out and can't.

I've made some changes I'd like to try but then I'm not sure what to do. I have hit the "save" link on the left top of the page but then it goes to something else and never has any affect on the game.

I can't find ANY info on how to use this anywhere on the internet so far. I would appreciate any info to help.

Thanks in advance.
