hello, Messenger...
i have some of the Wondershare programs as well...
the difference i noticed today was that after the install, a popup asked for my e-mail & reg. code...however, after shutting the program down, activating, then opening again, there was no popup...
also, when going to "Help", then "Register", the same popup screen then shows "Video To Flash Encoder Registered"...no name or #, so i hope it's ok...
"AVI To DVD Burner" shows a similiar "has been registered" message...no other info...
the "Register" button on "FlashOnTV" shows "successfully registered"...no other info...
i didn't see anything in "Demo Creator" other than the discount offer to GOTD users...
none of the previous giveaways have become trials for me...
if you are geeky enough to use MS "regedit", sometimes the programs show a serial # in there...
whew!...too much typing!...hope something there helped!...

@cyberdude...
the "Activate" program probably adds a registry entry so that you get the full version, not just a 30 day trial...always activate!...and never update, as you'll probably turn the program to a trial of the newer version...other than things like "Mamutu" which update definitions...
be geeky & check the registry!...
i'm not geeky or brave enough!...

Thanks but that wasn't what I was really asking.
This becomes the full version once the activation file is is opened. My question was concerning the procedure of it. All the other Wondershare so far and some other programs downloaded from GAOTD in txt the file instruct to:

(Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and run the activation program
Activate.exe FIRST which is included in the package, then run Setup.exe to
install the software.)

Todays Wondershare download is instructing to do the opposite after unzipping. To run setup first then run activate.exe.

A few other members and I noticed or/and commented this on the comment page that this is the first time we've seen this procedure used and are hoping it's not a typo. Not knowing how or what the limit is on the trial, I'd hate to go and use this someday and it won't work because the trial version ended.

A lot of trial versions not only lack support and free upgrades but are use or time limited then stop working all together. The GAOTD activation removes the use and time limits, and at times I have gotten support from a few Software companies because of it being registered to GAOTD.

As I mentioned in the above post, it's hard to tell with Wondershare because none of their 3 other programs I have don't mention if they are registered or not, except the hint on one that came with an ad on the interface frame bar for GOATD members to get 30% off any other purchase direct for Wondershare. In the Help/about section nothing on it being GAOTD registered. All the wondershare programs do have a box to fill in the register name and key code but the past Wondershare programs didn't need them to be filled out for GAOTD members.

Seeing you've only been a forum member since today go here and read what GAOTD is about concerning getting the full version. GAOTD does not repack trial versions.

I question if there is anything actually done by the Activate program. If you look at the website the product page says "Download this Video to Flash Converter software for free now and turn your favorite video files to FLV and SWF to enjoy your them with your friends and family!". If you look at the Help About, it does not appear to be registered, so in my opinion, GAOTD is just repacking the same free thing you can download directly from the vendors site. The price to get the full version (which just provides support and free upgrades) is the same price.

Not to start a storm of worried nerves here but is this the first time that GAOTD has us running the setup first before the activate file. Out of 36 Gaotd downloads I have (not counting games)13 needed key codes, 8 the activate and setup were built into one file together, 2 where the key file had to be place in the program folder and 13 had the it where you had to run the activate file first before running the setup file.

Looking into the other 3 Wondershare programs I have, they had us running the activate file first before the setup file. This is the first time out of all the programs I have where the setup file is first before activate.

Could this be a typo in the txt?
It's hard to tell with Wondershare because none of their programs I have, mention if they are registered or not, though they are working past the 24 hours of having to be registered. There was no "unregister" worded in the title bar that I noticed before running the activate file in todays download.
I know in the past post a few people have run the setup first only to find out a day later they didn't follow the txt right.

I'm hoping BuBBy or some one from the GAOTD team sees this and could give a little clarification on this.
