Thanks BuBBy
That was what I thought too but to no avail. It's normally set at 96 dpi. I've tried 120 dpi and also went through all the custom settings also along with combos of screen resolution settings in both 32 and 16 bit quality and got the same result. Even allowed the computer to restart between each time just to make sure any setting change I did took affect.

Do you remember what the error messages said? Like are you getting an exception error message or missing dll file error? I don't get the error messages, but have noticed on the comment page others are having some kind of launch crash message errors.

The only other time I've come across a problem like this was with OpenGl32. My computer is setup to be able to use OpenGL32 programs, but for some reason some programs will not recognize that I have OpenGL32 on my system and get an error like it can't find OpenGL32.dll and I know I have it on my system in a few different folders. Some programs using OpenGl will run though.

I'm not saying this would be the problem but maybe a missing MS dll or ini file or some missing video file that MagicScore uses is needed that I just don't have.
If I can't narrow it down soon, Both MagicScore and DG Software have email support and see if they could help. I'll post back when I get anywhere or get an answer.

I've not been able to get this software working either. I get several error messages. The program installs then places a shortcut that is blank on the desktop.

I've tried re-installing it on both this computer and on one other. These are the specs for both;

cpu 2.2GHz Athlon dual core
4Gb RAM
2xNVidia8600GTS 256Mb Graphics cards
Windows XP Pro with SP2

cpu 3.2GHz Athlon dual core
4Gb RAM (effectively 3.6GHz as XP doesn't recognise the rest)
NVidia 8800 GTX 640Mb
Windows XP Pro with SP2

I don't know whether it's the dual core that causing the problem???

In your display settings - under "advanced" (I think the location might change depending on which video driver you have installed) - there should be a "General Tab" (under XP) where the Display DPI setting (dots per inch) is configured.

Some application if changed from the default "Normal size (96 DPI)" just start to behave odd and do bizarre things. Typically these "odd" things tend to be related to sizing, spacing and location of interface elements inside program windows.

It may not be your problem - but it would be where I would look first.

Don't know why but for some reason any MagicScore software doesn't seem to run on my computer. I'm having the exact same problem with this giveaway that I had last week when I installed their MagicScore School. I go to run the program and as it opens the interface screen it just shrinks in increments to a small bar on the screen and is not usable. I have reinstalled it 3 times and tried different video settings only to get the same results.
Duel core Pentium D830 3.0 GHz
Windows Xp Mce Pro SP2
1gb Ram
Intel 82945G graphics with 950 accelerator chips.

My problem with their other software last week posted here.
