What virtual box does it run a guest operating system inside a virtual machine.

The way I use it is on Linux to run Windows XP for some applications that are not available in Linux.

Or if you run Vista and has some programs that did not work in Vista you could run XP inside of Vista to run those programs or device. For example my webcam works on XP but not vista but I could run it with Virtual Box if I did in XP install.
