Well crap... I was hoping to get this game. I've been wanting to test out this 'giveaway a day' site, but didn't want to just grab any game to do it. Guess now maybe I should have so I could have figured out what the problem is before now - 'trying to get one I do want'. LOL

Thanks for trying to help me!

Always...Stacy

No I wouldn't say Norton is a problem yet. :)

Okay! Yes... this was all with Norton. Is having Norton a problem?

Hi Stacy... those values are dependent on your hardware. And I don't know where you are at, but I don't think you should be in there. Are you doing this under Norton Firewall? If so, stop!

Okay... please know that I so appreciate the help you all are trying to give me. But if you haven't noticed I'll confess I'm not that smart when it comes to computer lingo stuff. :(

Anyway... I've added game.giveawayoftheday.com to my firewall's trusted sites. Didn't make any difference.

I can't find anywhere where the port is causing a problem, so I haven't done anything with that info you've given me.

Another way of adding another computer to communicate with my computer was a little more difficult, but if any of you know the following information, maybe I can try that way.

Here's the info I have to fill in:

Adapter Name:
Subnet Address:
Subnet Mask:
Hardware Address:

Again... thank you for your time and your knowledge in helping me out with this. :)

Always... Stacy

hey stacy, ask a friend that has installed it to give you the reg code, after downloading the app from the authors site.

As for your fw, allow it to connect to the giveawayoftheday server all of the time or allow this instance, you can then just remove permissions at a later date!

Oh that isn't good! :( The activation uses port 80 if that helps.

Yes, I am connected to the Internet. I've tried this like approximately 4 different times this a.m. and get the same error message each time. :(

Are you connected to the Internet while trying? Also once in awhile, the server is too busy. Then you should try again later. Although if you keep trying, it should go through in a few tries, even if the server is busy.

In trying to install the Game-of-the-Day, I continue to get the following error message:

"Activation module failed to connect to game.giveawayoftheday.com. Software activation is not possible at the moment. Please try again later or check your firewall settings."

I've gone into my Norton Firewall and temporarily turned it off, however, I continue to get this same message.

Please advise.

Thank you!
Always...Stacy
