P.S. to: " BillW50 ",

-Thanks for the kind offer. There really is something I would like help in finding [that I don't think 'NotesHolder' has]. I need a 'note' type-of app.,-[free]-, that'll allow me to attach a note to 'ANYTHING,-ANYWHERE'.-[or as much as possible].
-Not just on the desktop, but folders, files, pictures, etc,... [ -and you don't have to open the note, -just put the cursor over it to read.]

Well, I think something like that exists,...[somewhere?]
If you happen to know, it would be much appreciated !
THANKS AGAIN !!

Hi JEG88... Yeah I saw that and I don't know why they closed the thread on you. That was very unusual of them. Maybe it was just a bad day for them or something. And yes, buying a registered copy would indeed solve the problem. And well worth the money if you like it that much. I wish I could have helped you sooner. :(

Hi, Thank You both-[BillW50 & tjchan]-for trying to help. I thought I should clarify some things;... The GAOTD site says if you have a problem you have to post it in the Forum. So, my original post was in this section, Titled:''NOTESHOLDER --TIME LIMIT ?? ---ASAP HELP !!!'' I left this not only for the Team but also for the Members, for I thought others who downloaded it would be able to tell me if they had the same 'time limit message' or not and how it should look. I also thought GAOTD would know + be able to tell me or find out for me. BUT, they closed my post and didn't provide me w/ ANY info or give others a chance to !
So, what I wrote [in the above post:'re:Q;='notesholder'] is my response to the GAOTD TEAM to inform them of the outcome and express my disappointment.
I am still hoping for a response from them, but I am grateful for all and any help, [I just wish it could've been sooner].
My only recourse now,[to get the app.+ my notes back],is to buy a 'Registration Key'. [-which I will have to do 'cuz I NEED my notes.]
[Unless of course, GAOTD gives me a 'KEY';...[LOL,:) !]
--Well, at least I'll be paying for my favorite GAOTD thus far !

Thanks again for the useful info.!

This specific GAotD offering appears to be a special build. If you download a copy off of the publisher's site, the reg code doesn't work. Importing the registry key doesn't work as well...if this helps any...so you have to have the ORIGINAL GAotD setup file.

=( Which I don't have....I have the code but I don't have the original setup file (if I recall this release had an activate.exe and a setup.exe)

Here is what NoteHolder should look like when registered.

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/7471/noteholder2kq.gif

I don't know what you want from anybody? As nobody can remotely connect up to your computer and see if it was activated correctly. Well they can, but you have to let them. Thus normally *only* you can verify that everything has gone well.

Some people get confused and activate while the program is running. It may work this way, then it may not. Usually the program will still claim a trial version until you close it, including the icon in the tray. Then reopen it. Now it should say registered to giveawayoftheday.

If it doesn't, try rebooting. If it still says it is a trial version, it wasn't activated correctly. Within that day, you should try to reactivate it if you want to keep a copy of the program.

I don't know what else we can tell you? I wish I could give you my registered copy,as I don't think I will ever use mine. I am also sure there is probably a lot of free software like this as well out there. Want us to find you some?

I had asked you a question about 'NotesHolder';= "if the "time limit message" at start-up [on my PC] was 'NORMAL' or not."
You didn't answer the question I asked.
Instead you gave a "generic reply" ;= ["If you activated it correctly, it's free forever."
Well, I got the 'Real' answer the sad way ;= It EXPIRED and Stopped Working !!

I don't know what happened. I followed your directions exactly =[activate, then set-up;.. & it said it was activated].
But its Obvious [then&now] that something went wrong.
I don't blame anyone/thing for that,-[glitches happen], but I am frankly Shocked and
Saddened that I did not get more support from you.
:((
