Robert,

thanks for a quick reply but I'm sorry to say, Live Update has been to no avail.

Early in the morning I tried to post this on the main site but wasn't allowed to ("Please comment only on the software").
From my point of view though, this topic IS with no doubt software-related simply because it deals with a couple of wrong registry entries generated during regular setup.

That said, I nevertheless hope the public on this forum will suffice to find a solution. The thingy seems to be ... an issue.

Hi Robert
Humm, I did the update. I thought there was *1*
How do u mean *2*? But if I missed it, could I do it now?
You were talking about the *database*, right? Not the upgrade from 3.26 to 3.28

Thank You

Weird! Is it sort of an admixture with this software's "magic" that it is writing old registry entries?
I cannot believe that it's only me. Presumably many a GOTD visitor will find a somehow undigestable "registry Easter egg" (though a tad late) when (s)he is going to look at the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Driver Magician

Here is what the current setup.exe (v3.28) has written in any of my 4 installation attempts:

"endtrialtime" "3-30-2007"
"firsttime" "3-15-2007"
"lastvalid" "493...CE3"
"serialnumber" "........." (which is DIFFERENT from the one I stored from v3.26)
"username" "........." (which is INSIGNIFICANTLY different from the one I stored from v3.26)
"Version" "3.16"

My laptop I've installed v3.28 on has seen the prior GOTD version 3.26 but no other.
On both of my pc I have gotten the same old entries (3.16) even though the version number under Help-About is displayed correctly.

This crazy thing could be negligible if there was no impact on the functionality itself but there is! Here's why: Despite the version number showing 3.28 the program would find and list four ATI drivers deriving from two old AGP graphics cards that were deinstalled months ago.
The backup of ALL the drivers found including the aforesaid ATI drivers resulted in a quadruple of 120 obsolete files each quarter of which (30) being identical to the corresponding files of my current AGP graphics card.

So, what's up? Left over registry entries? From a version never installed?!
Even more so as I had cleaned the registry from every entry pointing directly or indirectly to "DM" before I performed the second installation.

Anybody who's giving a hint?
