whitemist, the best thing for you to do is to contact support at the evernote site, and ask for help from there, as we are unable to provide this type of support for the program beta itself.

Every time I try to get into it am asked to sign up for beta tester. They have never responded back and that's as far as I can go. I tried using the program but it asks for an email and password, and since I didn't create an account, I clicked that on and it takes me back to the same page to sign up to become a beta tester. That is all that happens for me. I really would like to use this program.

Well, I did register through there within the hour after the GOTD offer expired, just in case.
I don't think it will be successful, since now they have a rather large pool of testers/customers w all the ppl from here, plus all the advertisement they got.
We'll see. I'll keep using my GNotebook, which I like!, for the onLine stuff.

What did bother me most was Not Knowing the Why it didn't work!!
I knew I was doing everything right, tried many times through out the 24hrs, it was really puzzling.
Thank goodness GdGOTD came along w an answer!!
I was quite disappointed not being able to solve the mystery!

I never allow Google-analytics or Google ads, etc. tracking stuff that isn't from the site itself. :)

just the minimum to let the site run, and that usually just temporarily.

searching- I don't often use a search engine directly, I use a multi-engine metasearch tool like Telescope, which sorts the results by match percentage regardless of engine.

since your name & e-mail are entered in the EverNote database, can you just ask for a password reset, or does the program need to be unlocked?...

when i open the Beta, it asks for "User Name" & "Password" to run the program...

if i leave both blank & click on "Forgot Your Password?", it takes me to the web page where i can ask for a new temporary password to be sent...it asks for your username or e-mail address to be entered...

as long as you are in the database, there must be some solution...e-mail them, install the Beta & use your username/password, something...?...

alex, #122: what is your email? Servers are fine, but there is a lot of emails in the queue since many mailservers are rate-limiting connections and gray listing. I can check if you are among them

since your account exists, was created during the promo, & you are supposed to be able to download the desktop clients at any time and use them...there must be some solution to the problem...

also...did you try logging into preview.evernote.com to see if you can access the account that was created ( thru your browser instead of the software )?...

Thanks BuBBy that you wanted to help. I didn't see your post earlier, left the puter as the GODT offer ended. I had no error notice, every thing was normal, only the email with the wanted code did not arrive.
Tried to reenter the whole process, but got the answer that an account with this name and email already exists. Never mind, maybe they have enough guests invited from Europe or women or grays ... Have the updated proggy, which is the most important.

Yes, entered the captcha MANY times, refresh/re-enter, refresh/re-enter the new one.

Nobody has mentioned the captcha (that string of letters/numbers you type copied from a distorted graphic of the same letters/numbers). Did that appear & was it entered correctly?

I downloaded and created my account - first time - no errors - about 60 minutes before the end of the giveaway. I got my email with the activation code about 10 seconds after that. I just checked and the page is still available.

If you pm me the details I can try to create an account on your behalf.

There was nothing in my post that was in any way intended as dismissive, nor did I imply that anyone was "not doing it right".

I simply responded to whitemist's request for help. I asked, "Why can't you create an account?" in an attempt to identify where the problem occurred in the process. Since time was running out for the giveaway, I then detailed the exact steps (as best I could remember) that I followed, approximately 15 minutes earlier, to complete the process successfully, in case there was not enough time to get details back and forth.

If you had bothered to check - I have never responded to any post here in a rude or dismissive manner and, in fact, have gone out of my way to answer posts from newcomers.

Just remembered that the big boss from EN made a post on the comment's page, saying *all* eMails were being sent within minutes, after several complained they hadn't received theirs... So YES, u should contact them ASAP

I'm NOT new to the forum nor to GOTD project, and after trying MANY MANY MANY times, could NEVER create an accnt!!
Tried on several PCs/Laptops, tried several different eMails, tried at different times of the day/night.
I ONLY got an error page EVERY time!! My husband tried also, w the same results.
Glad it was sooo easy for you.
It was NOT user error for Darius23 or Whitemist, as it was not for me either!

If you can help, please do so without implying *we* are not doing it right!
People come to the forum for help, not for flippant remarks, special newcomers that don't know who/what/where.

To Darius & Whitemist:
You didn't need an account to dwld/use EN 2.2, it was needed only for the EN Beta3.
Hope u got to dwld the EN 2.2, as it is a rather nice program.
If u need more help, don't hesitate to ask, generally ppl are very nice and helpful in this forum!

Why can't you create an account?
I followed the link on the download page and filled in the info requested.
All it wanted was your name and email account so they could add you to their list of Beta testers. They immediately sent (by email) a number and link back. When you get to the place where it asks for a username and password, put in what you want to use and you are all set.

I can't create an account, therefore I can't use it. Help
