installed the trial in a different directory after backing up the registry. then uninstalled the trial- there as some untangling to do- and restored. isn't that the sensible way when unsure? I use revo uninstaller so I can judge what to remove or leave as part of the process, both reg and disc.

Robert maybe I'm in a bad mood today, but I can't remember I subscribed to a newsletter.
As I'm doing a major "clean-up" in my program-folder, I decided that this tool was one of the "unused". I stay with JAlbum.

I would have preferred greatly finding that this announced update was not usable to gaotd users before tangling my system up installing the trial, finding it was time limited and spending a lot of effort removing it without removing the original.

usually when developers announce an update/bug fix on the forums here it is an open upgrade for the previous version we pointed out the bugs in- perhaps a re-release for this program soon would be possible?

The last § should read:

I agree that,*once IC is installed*,unchecking file ass with IC doesn't require manual re-association.

Hi

Just to make sure that we are on the same wave length... :)

Please double check.

I unchecked all image associations during the setup of the program.
IMHO all existing associated should have remained.

I agree that,*once IC is installed*,unchecking file ass with IC requires manual re-association.
But,as I said before, it is a *minor* problem and requires only basic user intervention.

Kind regards ,
...and thumbs up for the new version of Image Compressor.

Hi Robert,
when you choose to un-associate the types from Image Compressor,
the program will revert back the original association.

IMC indeed save the original association value in the registry.
For example:
.jpg association: you can check it from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg
You will see (Default) and Old_Default.

When IMC unregister the association, it will copy back whatever value in Old_Default to
(Default) again.

#Masswork

Thanks for giving us an update notice on the program!
I downloaded the trial version and *yes* the file association problem seemed to be fixed.

But Houston we still have a minor problem.

When choosing *no* file association with Imagecompressor, all existing file associations with images also disappeared.
So one has still to re-associate.
