I did try the mirror link, with the same results. I don't know what could be causing it. Since I have to get up at 4am tomorrow I am giving up on this one so I can get some sleep.

Thanks anyway. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better download day for me.

It is something wrong with the downloads coming from here. I went to another site and downloaded a zipped file, and it unzips fine.

Quite annoying, that.

Well I did really want Mamutu and I get the same error with it when I try to unzip it. I did put my headache aside and try to follow the instructions in 7-Zip and it comes back with an error message CRC failed in 'Setup.exe'. file is broken.

Guesses?

goodgotd...

I tried all three programs. The first one I could not make heads or tales out of at all. The second one would not install... said something about a corrupted file. The third one is too much info for me to quickly go through to learn how to use the program in the short period of time I have left before this give away is over. I don't have the ability to quickly pick up computer programs if they are not intuitive and neither of the two programs I installed are intuitive.

It doesn't matter. I wasn't really keen on the game anyway. Thanks for the time and effort.

if you're usnig a download accelerator, try disabling it, occasionally that can corrupt the download.

you might try using a free extraction program like UnzipThemAll http://www.herve-thouzard.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=4 or CAM UnZip http://www.camunzip.com/ or 7-Zip Portable http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/7-zip_portable

if that doesn't work , post again.

Hi,

I have tried a couple times to download and extract the files for the game eXtinction. Since it takes so long to download I thought maybe the first time was a download error, but on repeating the process found it did not solve the problem.

The error I get is a generic: Error reading the file.
I am using the built in compression/decompression feature of WinXP. I usually have no problems with it.

Also, a few people over in the comments section are having trouble running the program, if anyone can help them.

Thanks.
