Installed "Mamutu" presumed as i have A-Squared Free from the same stable it would be to my benefit, alas on running it my screen froze! had to switch off pc from the tower, tried again, same result, and again and again,i had only 30 seconds between entering my password and the time it would freeze, tried to open Add and Remove or System Restore,it was not possible in the 30 seconds, due to other programs starting,in the end i managed to open WinPatrol (system monitor) which was in the tray, got to startup files and stopped it,my first screen freeze ever on WindowsXP,oops what a feeling! goodbye "Mamutu"

MrFishy, that was no real help. I must confess, 15 h ago I had to google "What is my control panel?"o.k. my language problems. But then I found an interesting site with TUTs and problem-solving. Don't know why I didn't save that link, now it's gone. Have googled twice. but could not find that link. Now I bookmarked those 4 , but I don't think you need them.
Good Luck

I just opened my control panel (XPsp2HomeEd) and none of the buttons would respond? I was immediately baffled, and a bit anxious, having just dumped all but the latest system restore points.
For some reason, Mamutu came to mind, so I closed it and voila! Opened Mamutu again, then control panel, same result . . . no response (except for administrative tools, ie: shortcuts)

Can someone with XPsp2 please check and see if this is just me? Thanks. I don't think this was happening until recently. Hmmm, they did have a real update yesterday?

Well, I have to agree that Mamutu seems to be more trouble than it is worth. Although I thankfully have not had the system hang, the program is always interupting for something. One particular interuption is when it flags internet explorer, but doesn't tell me which program is initiating the execution. To me, that is worse than useless, because it is interupting without giving the user enough information to make a decision. While it is true that there is information on running processes, Mamutu doesn't tell me which of these processes or programs is manipulating IE. Frequently I will see the Mamutu screen pop up, just as I am starting a full screen game and the screen leaves the desktop to the game. Then I worry about Mamutu freezing the system in the background because I have not provided it with the info it needs.

seems ok here, avg, anvir, run all sorts of stuff, so far all the pop-ups seem relevant to possible questionable actions and infrequent.

and I didn't look at the comments, will have to check, now regretting unchecking 'invisible updates'- but not much.

What a pity for you, I have no problems at all.
It asks sometimes, perhaps 1 or 2 times a day what to do, and then all is silent and fine. Did you read the comments of ~Robert and Emsi? They gave some tips how and which boxes a beginner should check. Besides Mamutu, Kaspersky AV and firewall and spybott are doing their job parallel. It runs so smoothly, that I sometimes suspect, that Mamutu isn't running at all.

I agree. Before I downloaded it and installed it, I checked out the comments on the download page. I would say most if not all were positive towards the program. I also thought since Asquared is such a good program, something else from the same developers would also be good. Boy was I wrong!!!! It's a shame and I hope that any of the programs or games that we choose to use and install won't cause us the trouble that this one caused.

I uninstalled it in the end. It caused way too many problems. From what I remember Threatfire was a similar type of program and I didn't have any issues with that so I reinstalled it. Maybe GAOTD will bring back Prevx or programs like that that actually worked

Yes, I've had problems too! I've been running A-2 Squared free version by this same company so I thought this might be a good one. It totally took over things! Yes, I had to tell it what to exclude/allow, but it kept popping up brief boxes on everything from Outlook Express to Firefox and everything else as well as totally slowing down my machine. Then it locked my machine up and that's a first for me in quite awhile. Long story short, I've deleted it!

On A-2 Squared I don't have that enabled on start up and I periodically run it as I wish, Mamutu insisted on running on start up and running in the background. This I don't like!

Sooooooo it seems to have a few bugs to iron out since it is a new version!

Hmm... Wow you're having a lot of trouble. Try going into Mamutu and delete all the rules files from the Malware IDS screen. Then right click its icon in the notification area and click on Malware-IDS. That will disable the program. Install what you have to, and then reenable Mamutu. Next time, make sure that you tell the program to Exclude or Allow the program that you're trying to use.

ever since I installed Mamutu today, I can't Install anything because it says that it can't access the file. Firefox completely stopped working and and it has blocked Comodo Firewall Plus because it thinks there is some kind of malware. I tried to install both Firefox and Opera, Mamutu won't write the file to my hardrive.
