Darn,

I've gone to school for about 30 years and finally graduated a couple years ago and I have an Office Live account which is also free. I also have some of the Express Edition versions of the programs offered, but they are from version 5.0. I would love to have 8.0 Professional Editions. If only Microsoft decided to give students hundreds of dollars worth of software for free a couple of years ago...

Oh well, another opportunity down the drain.

FREE - Visual Studio 2008 PRO, Expression Studio, Windows Server 2003 Standard, xna Games Studio 2.0

This is for students only but if you are downloading it for a student friend it seems you only need to 'borrow' their details (cough, cough). There are quite a few programs on offer including Visual Studio & Expression Studio. You need to sign in using a hotmail address or windows login and then verify yourself as a student.
