The same post also informed me why I got rid of my HP printer(that I didn't have to) because I had IE 7 on at the time and my PC kept blue screening. Send error report, something with my printer drivers. Went to HP, they said I had the most up-to-date drivers. The comment stated it had to do with IE 7 and not the printer itself! Well at least my mom is getting some use out of it as a copier. If there are no further issues with RC2 (for example) RC2 will be the code that everyone will get as XP SP3. (Of course knowing Microsoft - RC2 will also go final if there are an "acceptably low" number of issues (ie. Acceptable to Microsoft) - depending on schedule timeframes, available resources and other commitments.</p> <p>Ever since WinNT4 SP4 (if my memory serves) I have made it a personal policy to not use a patch or service pack that is still undergoing testing by Microsoft (on a machine I'd rather not have to format and reinstall in the event of issues). In fact give it a week or two after release before committing to it (just in case).</p> <p>Installing a patch that is still being tested on a production pc, can be a risk if it is only to have a look and run the latest. While I will NEVER enable the new tabbed windows feature (I keep 10 to 20 separate browser windows open most of the time and like the old method just fine), switching to IE7 hasn't caused me any problems.
