Archangel, I tried to use target="_blank" so people wouldn't lose their place, but the forum strips it from the href. Never tried to create a hotlink like that here before, but have seen the same thing happen on other forums so there's got to be some rationale. Perhaps to dissuade some sort of abuse or malicious redirects.

Thanks for the link. Its a good thing that filters with redirects aren't used. Type up your post and click "Send Post" and get redirected (based on content of your post) to the answer. LOL

Critical to READ the instructions, as they are not always the same...

Eg.

1. Run Activate before Install
2. Run Activate after Install
3. Required key is in readme.txt

Are the most common forms of install.

Another common reason for failure is firewall blocking of the activation server, or host intrusion blocking of the key insertion into registry.

Archangel - Here's a link to the beta version of the Unofficial Installation Instruction Manual, now under development by Keebler elves in a tree stump off Rt. 40.

Rest assured, the final version will definitely include a statement that NO programs offered by GAOTD are trial versions.

funkymom is correct. There is no "Trial" versions otherwise we could just go to the developers site or a downloading site (tucows/cnet ect) and download it ourselves.

Here's a tip that almost every site gives (and its for free too). READ, READ, READ.

After downloading software and unarchiving always look for a "Readme" or "Instructions" document. GOTD always includes one. It tells you exactly what to do. (it has included registration name and product key in recent offerings).

I know it sounds like its not accurate but always run "Activation.exe" first then "Setup.exe". Again, read the "Readme" inclosed to make for sure. I know that the Moderators get fish eyed at all the posts in the comment section and some here in the forum about not being able to install the software or game but 95% of the time it is "Human error" that caused the failure. (The other 4% are settings in your computer ie admin control or your security and firewall settings) but every now and then there is an installation problem with the software but very rarely.

hi and welcome!
you are always downloading a full program from this site. it might not include support, but if you install within the 24 hour period it is yours.

if you are getting a message saying that it is a trial, you are probably not installing correctly. i did this when i first discovered this site, and made a similar post. check the read me file and/or search this forum and you will find what you need.

oh- very occasionally you will need to manually register the program. if this is the case, you will find the info in the read me file.

i hope this answers your question.

Why can't we know if we are downloading a program or a trial before we do the download.
