Thanks Bubby - but it doesn't do exactly what I want. You see I group all my registry software icons together then all my text editor icons together etc. and this is the layout I want saving (see I told you I was fussy).

Thanks VampireRat - I might just do that.

Direct Folders isn't freeware - but it shouldn't break the bank. Give it a trial.

Software I have been searching for, for 3 years

I don't know about you but I am extremely fussy about how my Icons appear in different Windows folders. Most folders I use the 'Details' option but on some special folders I use the 'Icons' view and the icons are placed in a very specific order. I have been searching for a program that will save this specific icon view for a few years now but I am unable to find one. The registry keys I back up to save the icon views at the moment are:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\AttachmentExecute]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU\]

and maybe a few more, this seems to work if slap on a good image of my C: drive (which I do quite often with Acronis). I back up these keys first and then merge them back in after. Now what I would like is software that will only back up specific folder icon views, for example 'D:\Application Data\menu\Utilities'. There are plenty of programs out there that will do this for the desktop so why not other specific folders?

Has anyone come across a program that will do this please (freeware if possible).
