Hi graphic-fans, Rune & Hamster & Locket & ..., perhaps

you can explain this sourcecode thing to a wondering / marvelling (what's the right word?) grandma with brainfog.
Some of you are trying to learn Photoshop, I'll try it with GIMP and Paint.Net and others. On the way looking for the best plugins and tools, I often trip on codes and don't know how to use. Is there a shortcut to learn or have I got to go to a course
(surly not)?
