For the past few days, I too have not been able to activate or install any of the software offered here(or gamesgivaway). When I try to activate, I get the message:

"Activation module failed to connect to givawayoftheday.com. Software activation is not possible at the moment. Please try again later or check your firewall settings."

I am not having any trouble downloading anywhere else, and I've tried de-activating my firewall, emptying cookies and temporary Internet files and it still won't work.

I use WinXP2 and Opera, I use AVG and SuperAntiSpyware.

cgorak05,

I do not know if this will help but you could try emptying your cookies and temporary Internet files. I have found this to help before. Another thing you could try is check if you have installed any Microsoft Updates for your browser recently. Some times this can mess things up too. Not sure if any of this will work but it is all I can think of at the moment.

I don't know, a shot in the dark here, but why not temporarily disable your Windows firewall, then try to activate a program from GAOTD?

That might do the trick... Like I said, just a shot in the dark....

ok, maybe I freaked out a little bit, ok alot. Sorry! This just frustrates because I can't figure it out! This is what I have running....I'm running Windows Xp Pro Service pack 2. I have AVG, Advanced Windows Care, and Clean Up on my system, nothing else. I use the Windows Firewall, nothing fancy. I use MSN, IE 6 (don't like IE 7, to many bugs) and Google. I think that covers it.
I used to be able to download software programs without a problem than all of a sudden I can't download nothing. Everytime I try and download it goes through the download steps even downloads the software, but when it tries to connect to the Giveaway it fails and than I recieve a error box that looks like this.... (please see below)

Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
For more information about this error, click here

Module 1
Setup.exe

and it goes on and on in the technical information with Module 2, 3, 4 and so on.

But that is the Error that I recieve. The reason why I took so long to write into the forum is because I'm stuborn, I like to try and figure things out for myself, and I thought if I contact the GiveAway Team they would contact me back. That's what I get for thinking! I broke down yesterday and wrote in, I couldn't figure it out and it's driving me crazy!

I've done everything that I've read to do in these forums to do and nothing works. It's enough to drive a sane person insane. But anyways, sorry for sounding crazy, really I'm not it's just I can't figure out and I know it's something so simple! Anyways thanks for responding and I hope someone can offer any suggestions to this very weird delima that I'm in.

OK. Slow down. Deep Breathing. Count to 10. ;)

Emailing the Give Away team 3 times in 4 days, and yet this is the first time you ask for help from the forums? While we are all "just" users, there are lots of knowledgeable users who visit this forum. While an answer is not guaranteed (and you may not get an answer, if nobody knows) it doesn't cost anything to ask.

Now what seems to be the problem?

I still recieve the same setup.exe error.

Could you possibly explain WHICH setup.exe error (there are several that you can get).

Also: Which version of Windows are you running?

I have had nothing but activation problems for the last three days with software from GAOTD. I have tried to contact them three times and I still haven't heard nothing from them. Does anybody have any ideas? I downloaded Cleanse Uninstaller and now today (Nov. 14)the DVD software and I still recieve the same setup.exe error. I have shut down my virus programs, shut down my firewall, added it in the exceptions within my firdewall, added Giveawayoftheday to my internet options again, does anybody have any other ideas that I haven't done? I used to be able to download software with no problems, and all of a sudden I'm have issues. I can'e download anything! It's driving me crazy, I can't figure it out!! It's more crazy because nobody from Give Away will even respond to me when I email them and ask for assistance. I have read the "Blogs", "Forums", and I have taken everybody's advise that they have given to other's and nothing works. So if someone can help that would be great. If Give Away is reading this, it would be great if you would return emails, please. I'm sure you get tons of them, but I've written three times in the last 4 days and I still haven't heard nothing from you, not a single response from you. Please HELP, Somebody PLEASE!!!
