Another free antivirus product that you might try is Advast. http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
You have to register for it but the home reregistration is free. I have uses this for a number of years and have really liked it.

you can also try avira antivir. i've been using it lately and i THINK it is quite good.
i've also seen in GOTD ads the avira antivir home edition PREMIUM demo. but, as MAZ said, you cannot update it.

on the other hand, the avira antivir home edition CLASSIC is FREE and comes with an update.

just search for AVIRA.

As programs here are usually given without the ability to update, an anti-virus program isn't really appropriate. There are several free anti-virus programs around that are updated regularly. I've been using the free AVG program for years, and have found it very good.
