It may be too late now, but I didn't hvave the earlier version of Robotask installed and had no problems installing the latest version. I activated it first then checked the registry to see if it had been registered which it had because I saw the registration information. I hen used the setup file to install it and it worked first time fully registered. I also checked the about in the help menu and it says Licenced to Give away of the day (1 personal licence)

Bonjour Kfitz

Yes, you should do as the ReadMe says.
Lee's instructions are *not* for you!!!
Did you read the first posts on this thread? He was giving a workaround for someone else
==> ELEVEN Months Ago!! <==

You ask Lee to be specific - Well, he was. He gave the path, the cie name and what to do.
Again, these where instructions for the 1° poster.

I don't know this soft as I didn't dwld last time & wont today either. So I'm unable to help out on specifics.

INFO:
When one needs to verify if a soft is properly registered or not, go to About or Help or "?" or Info or some variation of those (depending on the soft/cie) and see if it is indeed registered.

À la prochaine

Moderator Lee

Your instrustions conflict the ones with the software ...

You say install the application first, close it & run the activation program

while the program readme says

"Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and run the activation program
Activate.exe which is included in the package, then run Setup.exe"

Which is it?

I did as readme said & it seems I'm on a 30 day trial

I downloaded version 2.5.1 of RoboTask when GOTD offered it awhile back. I figured I’d update to the new version offered today. I downloaded the .zip, extracted the files, ran “Activate.exe,” and got the “Successfully activated” pop-up window and the “RoboTask 3.1 activated: What now?” web page opened as a new tab in Firefox as usual.

However, when I ran “Setup.exe” I received a message that said that setup had detected that I had version 2.5.1 and that an upgrade to 3.1 would have to be _paid_ and asked if I wanted to continue.

I chose “No” to get out and ask if anyone else had this happen, and if so how to upgrade w/o paying for today’s upgrade. Do I have to uninstall 2.5.1 through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs before I start the setup program for 3.1? (I am hesitant to do so because if that doesn’t work then I won’t have _either_ version.) Or do I need to do as someone suggested for other people who were having trouble installing and go ahead and install and then run the program and clock on “Register” and then click “OK” without entering a code, or what . . . ?

I ran the RoboTask activate program, then the setup & all seems fine but I didn't see a register button or option to click as others mentioned. Where's that?

The software mentioned it's a 30 day trial, how do I register it to get rid of that?

Moderator Lee
You mentioned " it should be registered to giveawayoftheday (single license) to you."

where's that? I don't see that (be specific)

also you didn't mention where do we get the "neowise key in"?

I had 2.5. Well I guess it's an update even if it is only a small one.

Activated and installed fine; I don't see anything new and on their site they don't seem to mention any changes from 2.5 to 2.5.1 http://www.robotask.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=476&PN=1&FID=1&PR=3

Hello,
I got this great program when it was previously offered last year http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/robotask/
So this is my question: is this an update, a new version, or is it the same one ?
Thanks

Activation does work.

However, you want yours to work.

So install the application first, when installation is done close the application and make sure it's not running as it also displays an icon in the notification area, (bottom right hand of your screen like where the clock is).

Once you have closed all instances of the application run the activation program and when done, open the program and it should be registered to giveawayoftheday (single license) to you.

If that fails, then run regedit, hit start >> run >> regedit, click ok then navigate to neowise key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Neowise\RoboTask and copy key then manually paste it into you application under registration box.
