No. It's more to do with what "came with" the setup from the giveaway developer - that wasn't set up. Thats all. You didn't miss out on anything.

Since they are usually of two types, my guess is that GAOTD puts them together in their wrapper.

GOTD sometimes wrap their installer around the one supplied by the software developers.

I doubt if either party would have time to create an full installer specifically for GOTD every day.

Who actually assembles and creates GOTD's setup.exe for software and games. Is it up to the software developer to do it or does GOTD do it after the software is submitted?
