Lee:

What a statement. You apparently didn't read the entire post because if you had, you'd realize that Firefox is not the issue because others state issues with either Fx or IE. And if Fx was the issue, don't you think it would be a global issue for ALL Fx users!? Granted nothings perfect in this life, but lets not start another browser war over something that has nothing to do with browsers. I'm sure the issue will be fixed and all browsers once again will access the site just fine. The last time the site went down it had to do with wordpress,... and I'd be willing to bet again that's were the problem is. More importantly as well, it's probably isolated to a server and/or regional network as only some are effected while others are not. I use Firefox religiously (including for MS updates) and have never had an issue accessing a website that was directly related to Firefox since I started using it at v0.7.3. If the problem isn't fixed as of this writing this morning EDT/US, no doubt it will be, and I'd be real surprised to hear it had anything to do with browsers at all.

Firefox v2.0.0.4 is what I checked it with when problems were mentioned.

I wonder which version(s) problem(s) caused error(s).

Alright everyone :)

How I fixed the blank screen issue

This is how I did it: Cleared my cache and cookies. Did both, and voila! It worked! I'm assuming all that is needed is the cookies - Likely a cookie error. As for posting comments, I'm not exactly sure what the issue is. It could be linked to this cookie issue; All I know is that it does now fix when clearing out your cache or cookies.

Anyways, for those who are interested, today's review is up too (Yesterdays was as well, just can't post)

It looks like a problem in the DNS lookup. If one takes out http://www.giveawayoftheday.com and inserts the IP 66.29.17.89, stuff works. Of course, since there is no way to do that when submitting a comment there is no way to enter comments. You can get to the comments section, but the post depends on the DNS lookup.

GAOTD SOFTWARE pages are powered by "WordPress" which seems to be the source of the problem.

This message is written and submitted in Firefox - only the latest and greatest.

--Editing seems to work. This is an interesting problem because I am having no with the WWW. problem here in the Forums using Firefox.

Ok, I FINALLY was able to get my password and am now a member of this forum. Now people can thank me because I was the first one to point out the "WWW." problem. (Hows That For an Ego!) NO, seriously - this is a VERY interesting problem.

I am now typing in this message using IE (which I only use for emergencies). Yes I was able to call up the home page in IE and I was able to access the downloads. BUT leaving messages in the comment is definitely not working.

--FireFox posted here OK too (see my next post) This is an EDIT test

VampireRat

Thank you for the links, I was able to download and got the little box that said it activated successfully, but when the "...what next?" page (I think that's what it says) tried to come up I got the "IE cannot display this page Blah, Blah, Blah ...". So I hope I'm activated OK. Unfortunately I can't get to the comments page to see if anyone else is in the same boat - But come to think of it, they can't get there to let anyone know they're having trouble, can they? Well, if comments continue to be down significantly that would be a clue, wouldn't it? If anyone has any news on progress, please make sure it gets posted on the forums - remember that's all we can get to for now. Thanks again.

Sorry for the multi-posts. Must sleep.
I don't think you are the only one FUBARd and I don't think it is us. There have been NO comments posted on the Giveaway site. . . unless. . . I cannot imagine my browser finally displaying the page but dropping the comments. Someone let me know if that is the case, please.

Thanks BuBBy for the link; it worked great.

I can get to the site by leaving out the www, but I still can't get the "Download" button to click over to the next page.

So for now, could you or someone please give me the wikifortio link for today's software (the game site works fine, by the way)? I would like to have it safely installed before I go poking around trying to figure out why I'm the only one still FUBARd.

My first thought is maybe that page has somehow gotten onto a "forbidden site" list in my computer. Any suggestions on what could be wrong would be appreciated.

2:45 CST and I'm still getting a blank page in Firefox but it comes through fine in IE7. HOWEVER, anything I try to post in IE just goes nowhere. Game giveaway works fine. Forum works fine.

Ten minutes later. I accessed the GOD page by dropping the www. from the URL as devlin suggested. THANK YOU! I have to repeat that process if I move to any other giveawayoftheday.com page - other that those mentioned above. I tried to post a comment again, this time in Firefox, but got the same results: browser went to a blank page and comment went to never-never land when I clicked "post" or "submit."

I WANTED to say that, if I could afford a $600 iPhone, I would not be here looking for free software.

Just for grins, I tried to download today's software and it WORKED. Thank goodness. I might go into withdrawal without my daily download.

When I enter http://www.game.giveawayoftheday.com/ (and I just copied and pasted that, so there can be no error), I get the GOTD site, not the GGOTD, but then when I click on the "Proceed to the Download Page" button, it takes me to "Internet Explorer cannot display this page." I have no trouble going to the game site and have downloaded and played the game.

NEW NEWS!!!
Just found these two entries at the bottom of the Games comments - Thought I'd get it out to everyone. I'm going to go see if it works:

#30
HAVING PROBLEMS ACCESSING http://WWW.GiveAwayOfTheDay.COM? Remove the “WWW.” from the address! Works for me.

I know this is off topic but if you can’t find http://giveawayoftheday.com try entering this, http://www.game.giveawayoftheday.com .

I'm up here in the N/E US. I didn't try to dwnld todays giveaway, just accessed the page to see if I could since y'all are having trouble. Seems I'm the only one posting in this thread so far that isn't having a problem accessing the site. I have noticed the comments on the main page haven't been updated since this morning EDT US, so I'm guessing GOTD is having some issues as well if in fact the problem isn't isolated to their server. I assume that's not the case because I can access it, ...but, stranger things have happened!
