Maz, that wasn't for the users, that was for GotD. It seems to me their responsibility to do such testing.

I use Sandboxie for testing. It keeps everything in the sandbox while the program is tested and when it is deleted from the sandbox, everything is gone. I can then install outside the sandbox and know what I am getting.

Sandboxie is free, but after the 1st 30 days, they ask, each time you open it, to consider supporting it. You then click the OK button and it continues to open. Whether you support it or not, it continues to work.

Also, makes a safe way to browse without junk being installed to your computer without your knowledge.

It can be found at www.sandboxie.com

I have no connection with this program at all, but am just a happy user.

well, GAOTD could do some search on the software via the internet before it is going to be featured on their website...

Keilaron,
Unfortunately, I suspect most of us haven't got expendable computers just to try stuff on. Most of us use one machine, which we rely on, so we don't want to risk messing it up and giving ourselves headaches by downloading programs which are falsely advertised as 100% adware and spyware free.
I'm sorry GOTD doesn't seem to realise this, and hasn't bothered to acknowledge the concerns expressed about this subject.

Well, what I usually suggest to people running such sites as GotD is to have one or more "honey pot" computers on which to test software. Having a spare system for such things is useful as it doesn't have to be connected to anything, it's results would be fairly accurate*, and one could easily use imaging software to restore it after testing (or use a system like DeepFreeze, which would be easier as the system's anti-virus software (and the like) could easily be kept up to date).

* Honey pot systems are not supposed to be used at all except the testing; In other words, no daily usage and the like, unless that's what's being tested.

Maybe a test run by the admin or mod the day before may not be a bad idea. If it don't comply, it don't go up.

Morpheus Photo Morpher is NOT a true GOTD.

1) This version is already available all over the ‘net.
http://www.ask.com/web?q=Morpheus+Photo+Morpher&qsrc=178&o=0&l=dir

I checked out three different downloads and they all look and work exactly like this one. You even get the bogus “activation code”. NOT A TRUE GOTD! This is a SHAREWARE VERSION.

2) It is terrible that this package also includes spyware/adware in violation of GOTD policies (hiding it as opt out is just mean-spirited and evil and even if they try to hide behind the opt out smoke-screen, that is just deception and another layer of evil).

3) It does not do most of what the GOTD description says.

I hope that more visitors demand that this be updated to completely fit the description and remove ALL spyware/adware, OR REMOVE IT ENTIRELY.

This version is a waste of time as the animation it produces is right next to useless. In fact, the move to useless is a mere pixel shift morph away.
