Ya, I already install the v2.5.0.913 already. works fine- still say it is registered to giveawayoftheday, expiration 2007/09/04. it doesn't go into trial version.

but after AWC autodownload the v2.5, I went into the folder its folder, usually it will be C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced WindowsCare V2 Pro\ and copy out the setup.exe and manually install it. I cancel the auto install.

I don't know the answers to your question but please take note that the disclaimer with downloading and using free software from here excludes updates and support. There are some others too but I can't remember all of them.

I haven't experienced your problem because I have never allowed updates. I use the software "as is" so it doesn't violate the companies perspective when they issued the free software from GOTD.

I would think that the company would actually want someone that was using there free software and evidently happy with it, to purchase it upon getting newer versions.

It's just my opinion but I bet its close to being correct.

I just got a notification (from Iobit, I assume) that Advanced Windows Care 2 must be turned off before downloading the "new" version (just out today). Since I did not have AWC2 turned on, I decided to investigate what this was all about. So I turned it on and saw the announcement that the new version was just released. It occurred to me that downloading this new version might invalidate the old version which we were given by GOTD on June 4th. Just as I started writing this I am notified by Process Guard (a great program, by the way, which prevents any other programs from starting without my permission) that AWC2 wants to start. Since I just opened the one I have, I'm guessing this may be the new one.

So my questions are:

1. Has anyone else dealt with this and does the new one try to install automatically? (I really doubt this, but something is trying to start one and it's not me.)
2. Has GOTD been notified of the new one coming out and how it affects us?
3. Will installing the new one cancel out the old one and invalidate the 1 year free?
