One thing I see is the usual debates saying X is better than Y, don't use Z and so on.</p> <p>Most of the material on the web is heavily based just on personal preferences and marketing material.</p> <p>In a position I once held, we had to do some fairly serious testing of security products for a large financial institution and bank. One very good resource we found to be independent and with a very good coverage was Virus Bulletin (among others).
