(Except for some users who have unusual or broken configs).</p> <p>If not for activate.exe, every day we would have lots of users asking how and where to register. I just downloaded and installed Backup4all lite. I didn't wait to activate it, I did everything when I downloaded and it asked for a registration number, which of course I don't have. When I clicked close it said my time was up.<br /> I've lost several programs I would have liked to have. Why doesn't GAOTD just give a registration #? The side effect of trying to activate a "previous" release of the giveaway is the mysterious "giveaway is over" error message - when you know there is plenty of time left (even the website says so).</p> <p>The "real problem" here is an inaccurate and misleading error message.</p> <p>If this happens - the first thing I would suggest is to redownload and activate immediately.</p> <p>It is entirely possible there are other causes - but this one I have found to happen to me - and it is repeatable.
