Secure your Jailbroken iPhone from SSH Hacking With MobileTerminal App

Please visit doi!!.com/i***! and secure your iPhone right now! Right now, I can access all your files". Question is, how one

can find all jailbreaked iPhones on a telecom network, well I think that can't be done unless the hacker has some inside help from that operator.

iPhone Hacked
Hacker are usually able to find/access iPhones because of the fact that all iPhones have same default root password 'alpine'

which everyone knows, and people usually forget to change the default password after jailbreaking, leaving their phone

vulnerable to intrusion and hacking. The very first and a simple thing iPhone users can do to secure their iPhones is to change default root password

http://www.computerweekly.com/Articles/2009/11/09/238469/First-ever-iPhone-worm-Ikee-unleashed-by-Aussie-hacker.htm

The first worm targeting Apple's iPhone has been unleashed by an Australian hacker.

But the Ikee worm can infect only iPhones that have been modified or "jailbroken" to run unauthorised software and does not do anything malicious.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/11/23/iphone_cybercrime_worm/

Updated The second worm to infect jailbroken iPhone users reportedly targets customers of Dutch online bank ING Direct.

Surfers visiting the site with infected devices are redirected to a phishing site designed to harvest online banking login details, the BBC reports.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8373739.stm

New iPhone worm can act like botnet say experts

Malware may have been a contributory cause of a fatal Spanair crash that killed 154 people two years ago.
The airline's central computer which registered technical problems on planes was infected by Trojans at the time of the fatal crash and this resulted in a failure two raise an alarm over multiple problems with the plane.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-11388018
The worm searches out industrial systems made by Siemens.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7990997.stm
Chinese and Russian spies were behind this "pervasive" breach.
It said software had been left behind that could shut down the electric grid.

Microsoft tool blocks attacks on Adobe Reader hole
On Friday, Microsoft published instructions on how to use the Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) to block the zero day hole in Acrobat Reader. Adobe has not yet published a patch itself, but recently added a link to Microsoft's instructions on its web site. Because of the lack of time, Adobe says it has not been able to test Microsoft's procedure fully, so recommends further testing in your own work environment.

Adobe has categorised the vulnerability as critical (CVE-2010-2883)

http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/DLL-hole-now-affects-EXE-files-1076847.html

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/09/10/email_worm_spreading/

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/09/08/adobe_reader_0day/

Researchers have uncovered sophisticated attack code circulating on the net that exploits a critical vulnerability in the most recent version of Adobe Reader.

The click-and-get-hacked exploit spreads through email that contains a booby-trapped PDF file that remains virtually undetected by most anti-virus programs

http://www.kaspersky.com/news?id=207576178

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces that it has cooperated with Microsoft in successfully closing a serious vulnerability in Microsoft Windows.

The vulnerability was classified as being of the ‘zero-day’ type when it was detected, and has been used by the notorious Stuxnet worm. Worm.Win32.Stuxnet is remarkable in that it is basically an industrial espionage tool: it is designed to gain access to the Siemens WinCC operating system which is responsible for data collection and monitoring production.

Well worth the time killing the NoScript homepage each time it or FlashGot get updated, too.

When I install Firefox, NoScript, FlashGot and Free Download Manager go in with it. Ok, if it's just to play online gaming sites like Pogo I skip the last 2.

WOT, GoogleSharing and PDF Download are the next level.

The first and last are optional if the browser is going *only* to Pogo, but GoogleSharing makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing I'm confusing the Chocolate Factory at least a little. automagically.

NoSquint if the monitor is small- 15" or smaller it's must-have though it's right handy even on bigger if your eyes are bad.

FoxLingo if it's going to go to overseas sites, and personally I like Hostname in Titlebar.

On the other hand, isn't it a deep irony that GAOTD just went on Facebook?

Yes, I've installed "NoScript," and it's doing a beautiful job of blocking the GOTD "stickr" and "share-message bar" from showing up, in addition to other pop-ups. Copmom, it does take a little getting used to in terms of "training" NoScript to know which sites to block or not block, which is something you can designate by "right-clicking" the "options" NoScript menu (at bottom of page), as Robert rightly mentions.

Oh, I installed NoScript, and I think it's a pain in the rear.. keeps giving me pop up message boxes, maybe I need to 'train' it or something?
