Hi, Victa, I didn't install that programme and don't have any clue about audio editing, but there are other users who have.

Look at this link Search results for Gizmo's Freeware website
There are often helpful posts in the user comments.
I hope you'll find what you are looking for.

To your question if any other programme could have deleted the registration - I would say yes, indeed.

That happened before. E.g. it happened to me with programmes using flash-player. As soon as flash-player was updated, a GOTD tool lost the registration.

Hi ChrisS,

Thanks for the reply. I do already use Audacity sometimes but I've found WaveMax such a simple, easy to use program with an attractive well laid out interface that I'm just more inclined to load it for basic audio tasks. I don't do much audio editing, maybe only once or twice a week for about an hour, so it's not an important issue really and I don't feel like spending around $30 for a new copy of WaveMax. I guess I have just grown comfortable with WaveMax. I'll see if I can get it running from an image backup. If that fails I'll look around for a close alternative. Prior to WaveMax I used WavePad Master's Edition. I got it from a Magazine Cover disk back in 2008. I see there is a good free version of WavePad available so will have a look at that.

Cheers,

The copy I installed still appears to work fine. If you go back and read the comments for the giveaway you'll find many comparisons to the freeware program "Audacity", which does work well, so maybe that's an option for you.

Just now I tried to use the 'licensed' copy of WaveMax I got from GOTD back in March 2011 and it says I need to purchase a licence (but still says licensed in the 'About' tab. Strange. I have not performed any upgrades etc., so I'm puzzled as to why it has stopped being the fully licensed version. I hope it's not related in some way to the installation of Sound Editor Deluxe GOTD on 2nd Jan 2012.

I've found WaveMax ideally suited to my needs so hope I can get it working again or it's a GOTD again.

Anyone else have this problem?
