lol, stupid me. I was so tired last night.. It took me three hours to add the coding into the above thread. I finished it around 5 am only to get the message 'you forgot the title' (or something like that). It was one of those nights where I couldn't do anything right. I had a copy on a word document, but without the coding. Normally it wouldn't take more than a few minutes to do it manually, but I wanted to use the buttons above the edit box as I thought it would be quicker,, lol.

It shows how observant I was last week. Not only did I post one of the games you posted previously, I also posted one of reverseOrders, lol

I had the games ready from a few weeks ago, and had been saving them specially for the anniversary week. (We're bound to find the same games frequently; especially now that we've posted so many games). Thankfully, there are still many games out there for us to post.

As for time..... I appreciate the time you do put into this project. I doubt many would bother, especially with the commitment you already have - i.e. having a a full time job and college as well. If only you knew how much I really appreciate your help (as well rO's and G@rgoyles)

I keep saying how lucky I am to have the time to dedicate to his project, but in reality I wish it wasn't the case. I miss my previous life... boo hoo, that's the meds talking, lol. I very much doubt I'd spend as much time as you do if I was doing what you are doing right now. Thank you a million times.

I will be adding images and correcting any grammar and spelling mistakes sometime over the weekend. I got side tracked again. You'll find loads of games to choose from for the last day of the anniversary special. I do hope you've found at least a few games that you enyoy. I've tried to post some better than normal games this week. It's been difficult to find such a number simply because it has been over ayear since we started this thread. I did start a thread asking the community to list their favorite games from this project. Thanks to those who contributed to it. Any input is always appreciated. :)

•	One of the MG-500 automatically fires of approaching missiles, if it flies away from the rocket, they will destroy the rocket, sooner or later. But you can also SPACEBAR to keep the ship on course and shoot with the DL-2500 on the missiles.

•	Rockets seek their own goals, you first fly to the chosen opponent when it was destroyed, they look for an enemy to the very close, and so on until they embark on, or runs out of fuel.

Centipong: 1.74Mb

Just as I was about to write about another game entirely, I happened to notice Centipong just sitting there, not bothering anybody. I wondered - does your name mean what it says - an amalgam of Centipede and Pong? Could these games co-exist in harmony, sharing the same habitat? And what would the music be like? These questions had to be answered.

First things first - What does the name mean? Yes, it is an amalgam of Centipede and Pong. Second things second - What does amalgam mean? Never mind, it seems to work whatever its meaning. And thirdly, how do Centipede and Pong become one and the same?

The idea is the centipede or centipedes (centipii?) come worming their way down - or across - the screen and you blast them with your ball, which ricochets off a paddle you control. With precision aiming, its your job to blow apart the centipedes before they knock you out. Of course, by destroying sections of the enemies you create more blocks with which the enemies can dodge your further attacks and... it works when you play it, trust me.

In fact, this has more elements of a third game included - Breakout - as the centipede will often drop bonuses (extend paddle, slow time, shoot spider, etc.) with which to better complete the level. Other point bonuses come in the form of keeping numerous balls alive at the end of rounds and other skill elements which are best left self-discovered.

In all, its an amazing package. The combination of styles and the genre mix is spectacularly well done. Oh, and the music - composed of bleeps and bloops is utterly fantastic. It's still pinging in my head and will likely continue until I head back for a replay. Which will be very soon, indeed.

You can download Centipong HERE or HERE[/b]

Return to Sector 9: (10.91Mb)

[code]

I’ve already posted this, but not part of the free games project, but in the Best Freeware of 2007 thread. :) I thought it worthy of repeating.

Return to Sector 9 was the long awaited sequel to Ambush in Sector 9. Featuring 9 game modes, 15 ships to pilot, plenty of weaponry, and plenty of aliens to use it on, it's arcade action at its bes. Hordes of enemies; different ships to pilot; dangerous enemies to face! Each of the 15 ships has its own special weapon. To unlock new ships and their weapons (and maybe a few alternative paint jobs) you have to attain specific scores, learn which game modes they're best suited to. To unlock new game modes you have to attain at least aBronze medal. Submit your scores to the online high score charts to see how you compare with the rest of the world!

Controls:

Keyboard controls:

For the game modes: return, ambush, jellyfish, protection,
gold rush, rescue, doomball, control your ship with cursor keys and turn your shooting
direction with Z and X (or 1 and 2). There's no need for a fire button because of autofire, but you can press space for a power shot (limited)

Mouse controls:

Used for the game modes windmills and last stand

Game modes:

1.	Return:

3.	Protection:
escort motherships from the left side to the right side and destroy
the attacking aliens that want to bring the ships down.

4.	Jellyfish:
control a jellyfish, destroy the enemies, eat spaceman to grow. when
you have eaten a few of them you will transform into a big jellyfish
and then you are invincible for a limited time. in that form try to
destroy as many enemies as possible to gain massive scores.

5.	Rescue:
collect little spacemen and bring them back to the mothership.
watch out for enemy waves and asteroids.
you fly towards the direction which you are currently facing. look at
the bottom of the screen for coordinates.

6.	Gold rush:
similar to rescue but better (no asteroids and better enemies)
...collect gold and bring it back to the mothership.

7.	Doomball:
a puzzlegame in which you have to bring 2 bombs of the same color
together. when the bombs have found each other they disappear with
an explosion as usual. attach a bomb to your ship by touching one
and detach the bomb by pressing Z.

8.	Windmills:

This has also been posted before in the space shooters thread HERE, as today’s theme was predominantly space orientated I though it was also worth adding to the list of games I wanted to post on the last day of the anniversary special week. Gunroar is a pretty abstract vertical scrolling arena shooter, that evolves progressively into a bullet hell shooter, with great visuals and smooth controls. The aim of the game is to steer your ship and destroy the enemy’s fleet of ships (what else can you do in an arena shooter, lol)

In this 8 level Spanish platform game, you as Vampirako (the good vampire) must get the exit door key from each room before proceeding to the next.

Vampirako has a medium level of difficulty. You will soon find out that you must keep a close eye out for the enemy because some of them hide very well and almost seem to appear out of nowhere. It runs in a resizable window, so it is almost like running in full screen mode. The choice and timing of the sound effects is perfect and the music is very soothing to the soul. The game however does lack options, the most important of which is being able to save or load a game. However, this is not as important as it would seem because the 2nd time through a level is easier than the first. (You know where the bumps are in the road.)

Since Vampirako is in Spanish, the several dialog boxes are in Spanish. To those who do not read Spanish this should not be a problem, but if you do read Spanish, this will only enhance your enjoyment of the game.

Tips:

Collect 100 gold plated four leaf clovers to gain an extra life.
Get a heart of energy to heal your wounds.

Drink of the bloody potion to be immune from the dangers of most enemies for 30 seconds.
Some exit doors can only be accessed by flying to them.

Controls:

•	Left/Right/Up arrows = Movement

•	Down arrow = transforms Vampirako into a vampire bat when standing on a jar.

•	Space = shoots fire balls (able to destroy most enemies and some blocks of stone). Also reverses the transformation of Vampirako.

•	Enter = pause

•	Space during menus = continue

Much more could be said about Vampirako, but that would leave fewer "pleasant surprises" for you to find out about on your own. You can download Vampirako HERE
