Looked at their T's & C's, and didn't see any restriction on usage.
Their free software is generally full "olderware" versions, or trimmed "SE" versions.

The annoying thing (at least last time I used it) is that you have an "activation" style registration that must be repeated if you re-install (even for the 100% freeware), and they can be a little bit pushy with offers, though some quite good offers, with products that are one version back usually discounted to £9.99 or less.

After being frequently criticised for £6 post and packing, it now appears to have bee reduced to a more reasonable £3, occasionally free (I'm on their mailing list, and have a few of their products).

The other thing to look out for, is Netobjects Fusion, as full older versions have been frequent visitors to magazine covercds

If you dad's company was indeed a non-profit organisation or a charity - you might be able to classify this use as non-commercial.

Designing a website to advertise a business or company would definitely constitute commercial usage.

Even if the software isn't used to directly produce business revenue - any software used to support the running of the business (even behind the scenes) would be classified as commercial usage. If for example you had an application to manage the companies internal phonebook - or annual leave applications for staff, all of these would constitute commercial use.

The "use" in question is any activity related to a business operation (either customer facing/public or behind the scenes).

A good "test" - ask yourself is this use of the software purely "personal" or does it overlap my "occupation", "work", "company" or "business".

If it's not "personal" then it is probably "commercial" (excluding NPO or charity work).

Bit like some programs that are corporate apps, they can be used for making money, Axialis is one example as they have usually 3 editions, basic, pro and corporate.

But can I use a website program that Giveaway has offered to make my dad's company's website? Its for no money and all I just wanna make him a better site using that program.

This means that you're not allowed to use those Programs to make money.

Can anyone please tell me what "non-commercial usage" means? Does it mean that I can use on my work laptop or does it mean I have to use it on home pc only.
