You’re welcome.
Yes I did install XNA so I think it’s a conflict with the sound card.
Oh well, you don’t really need sound to play the game anyway.
And midori, you’re probably fine if it says you have a newer version.

Hi g@rgoyle... thanks for pointing this out, but yes, I did install the xna file. The one I can't install is the dotnexfx file... seems there's a newer one on my computer, and I didn't really understand the jargon page to fix it. Why would I want to uninstall a newer version. Not sure if that contributes to the minus sound. ?:-| Luv the graphics... can always play my own sound.

ReverseOrder & Midori,
My puter has XNA Studio and Syzygy plays with sound here :-]
Did you two run the XNA Framework installer from the second folder?
Hope that helps.

Thanks for these ReverseOrder!
Looking forward to trying Paint Wars ;-)

Regards,
Lan

Nice, rO... thanks! I don't have sound on the first one either. Still trying to get used to controlling the ship, but getting the hang of it.
And Paint Wars is certainly nice and colorful... didn't realize you could move your color blobs around... sat there waiting for the paint bomb to recharge. Very colorful imaginations, these students. Must be lots of fun creating these. :)

These games were created by students from the University of Michigan. I'm not going to post too many games from here because some are multiplayer only or require Xbox controllers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Syzygy

This is a spaceship game with some puzzle elements. You can earn money to buy weapon upgrades and special powers such as timeslow, shockwave, shield, gravity well, and teleport. These special powers can be used to more easily solve certain levels but their not usually required. It's also interesting that they use "mana" (is this game also an rpg?, lol). This game is good but for some reason the sound didn't work on my computer or maybe it doesn't have sound.

Controls:
Menu:
Mouse Wheel - Select
Left click - Enter

Game:
Left Click - Gun
Right Click - Missiles
Space - Thrusters
A,S,D,F - Special Powers

---------------------------------------------------------------------

PaintWars

I'm posting this as a mini bonus game. This is a real time strategy game where you try to cover the screen with your colour of paint. To do this you have little paint blob creatures that constantly spawn at your spawn point. You can't directly control them but you can move them around with the mouse. The spawn point can also be moved. You can also launch a paint bomb by right clicking to cover a large area with paint but it takes a long time to recharge.
