Did like the favicons though.

Based on BuBBy's comments, I too installed Sticky Password; unfortunately, I started to encounter some problems that I hadn't encountered before (which I reported back to the developers upon uninstalling the product). This was the only product that I had installed recently, so I concluded that my problems stemmed from it.

The problems: there was an error message upon every startup -- a popup window with "Remind_XP.exe Application Error," which took at least 16 clicks before it went away, and on shutdown I had to force shutdown applications, such as iexplorer.

I ran Spybot Search & Destroy, which didn't help. So after uninstalling Sticky Password, I ran ERUNT for 10/20 (the morning of the installation), but then I got a NIS 2010 Error for which I'd have to update to NIS 2011 (I'm not ready to). Finally, I did a System Restore, and that solved everything.

It's too bad, because I found Sticky Password easy to use, and would have liked to keep using it . . .

Any hint on what "is buggy" appears like?

Perhaps letting the developers know about it, could improve the product for everyone - or at least improve the product for you. Version 5 is being released shortly... would be a shame to be stuck on 3.4 because the same bug is still present.

My favorite also. Had similar problem a while ago, and had to create new logons for
the effected ones, then del the old ones. Think the default.pws file got corrupted and
I always deleted the dated auto backup ones so had to do this.

Hi Emperor,
I do understand your reasons.
Main thing is Lamentine Software helped you out ...and gives excellent support.
Now Sticky Password was before my days at Gotd, but I'm sure if its BuBBy's favorite giveaway it just has to be perfect.
:)
Version 4 might be something to look out for...

Hi Robert.

I don't want to seem unhelpful on a site that I find very helpful indeed. However, I had a long debate with myself whether or not to say what the solution was, and in the end decided against it, for two reasons.

1) It is possible that someone with a problem (maybe apparently the same, maybe different) would try the same solution and it then not work for them. I would much rather that a person with a problem contact those who know the software inside out, especially how it interacts with other software and the registry, and get a solution that is directed towards their specific problem. If no help is forthcoming, then try a forum such as this.

2) I don't know if the solution cost the developer a sale of the current version, and I would not want them to lose out further as a result of helping me. When the next version becomes available I will seriously consider buying it, as a result of the good service they have provided to me.

I'd have to agree. Sticky Password is one of the best (and my favorite) giveaways we have ever had on GOTD (wow - that's a big call).

I can't help with problems with the Giveaway version, as I am running a Beta of version 4. Something to look out for - should the developers decide to offer version 4 of Sticky Password as a daily Giveaway - definitely grab it. :)

I have recently had a problem with my copy of StickyPassword, obtained from GOTD, as it started to throw up "autofill error" notifications whenever I went to a site for which I had saved login details. This meant that I had to use a more roundabout route to enter my login details for these sites. This happened with each of the three browsers I use regularly (IE7, Firefox 3 and Avant on XP Home SP3) and was becoming a nuisance. Why the problem started I don't know, but all three browsers are regularly updated.

Not expecting much by way of technical help, because of the GOTD conditions, I contacted StickyPassword support and received a prompt and effective solution to my problem. So I would like to take this opportunity to praise the StickyPassword team.

This is one of the most useful programs I have obtained via GOTD and to receive this support after such a long time exceeded my expectations and, I think, is worthy of recognition. Well done StickyPassword!

It would be nice to think that all developers whose software appears on this site met such high standards.
