Allora, credo di aver capito cosa vorresti fare.
Dunque se vuoi crearti un tuo sito web allora sarebbe ora che tu iniziassi a studiare l'HTML.
Se invece vuoi crearti un semplice blog gratuito, potrai caricare video e immagini e non dovrai assolutamente avere alcuna conoscenza tecnica per creare delle semplici pagine web con dei testi, uno sfondo e alcune immagini:-)

Ciao Vani@, credo di non essere riuscito a spiegarmi: è evidente che nel mio sito potrò visualizzare i video e tutto ciò che vi carico, ma quel che volevo sapere è se un mio spazio web personale (un mio sito, insomma)potrà funzionare come un sito di filehosting, ovvero se postando in un forum qualsiasi (un socialnetwork o quello che sia)il link ad un video che è stato caricato nel mio sito, questo video potrà esseree visualizzabile immediatamente e direttamente sul web senza embed di nessun genere e senza costringere l'utente ad entrare nel mio sito. Ti posto questa animazione a titolo di esempio affinché la mia richiesta risulti più chiara. Come vedi semplicemente cliccando sul link tu sei nelle condizioni di guardare immediatamente il video, senza dover entrare in nessun sito ospitante e senza codici embed. E' questo il tipo di filehosting che sto cercando e fileden è l'unico che lo faccia, tra quelli che ho provato.

le immagini sarebbero sicuramente visibili sul tuo sito.

per la visibilita in rete dipende che intendi.

il motore di ricerca immagini di google visualizza le anteprime delle immagini dei siti presenti nella rete una volta immessa una chiave di ricerca. se e questo che intendi allora la risposta e si.

che io sappia wot none stato ancora implementato per opera. probabilmente perche non ha ancora raggiunto i livelli di utilizzo di firefox e internet explorer.

Grazie a te e a Vani@ per le risposte tutto sommato tranquillizzanti (davvero non saprei come fare senza Fileden: ho cercato come un disperato altri siti di filehosting ma nessuno funziona come Dio comanda oppure hanno limitazioni troppo forti per gli upload (per esempio per alcuni il limite massimo è 3 mb). Fino a poco tempo fa esisteva "geocity" di yahoo, ma oltre funzionare malissimo, è stato di recente soppresso. Vorrei dire a Leo che, però,i siti per il backup di dati a cui ha accennato, sono una cosa molto diversa dal genere di siti di filehosting di cui sono in cerca: caricando un file in un sito per il backup dei dati non si ha la possibilità di mostrare direttamente in rete quel file. Mi spiego con un esempio: prendiamo il caso di una animazione in flash (.swf): caricandola in un sito per il backup dei dati si può solo metterne a disposizione il link per il download, ma non si può fare in modo che tale animazione sia direttamente visibile in rete semplicemente cliccando sul link. I siti di filehosting, invece, offrono proprio questa opportunità (proprio come imageshack fa per le immagini). Se qualcuno fosse a conoscenza di qualche sito di filehosting con le caratteristiche che ho descritto, mi farebbe davvero una cosa gradita nel comunicarmene il link.
Resta ancora senza risposta la mia prima domanda: è possibile usare WOT anche con OPERA (e Maxthon) e se si, come si fa?

P.S. la domanda che sto per fare è probabilmente un pò fessa, ma vorrei sapere se costruirmi un sito personale (cosa che non so ancora fare) potrebbe risolvere questo problema. In altre parole, caricando video, animazioni e quant'altro in un mio spazio web personale, questi files acquisirebbero un indirizzo internet utile a far si che possano essere visulaizzati direttamente in rete(non soltanto nel mio sito)?

stranamente concordo con leo. dai leo sto scherzando. credo che parte del giudizio derivi dal fatto che molti lo utilizzano per scopi non del tutto leciti.

ad ogni modo come spesso si e detto un po di sana paranoia non puo far male e quindi usalo ma usando tutte le precauzioni del caso mail secondarie ma anche addon che blocchino eventuali tentativi malevoli e perche no returnil attivato.

Il punto è un altro secondo me, alcune persone usano questi servizi di hosting per caricare anche malware, crack e anche programmi legittimi senza l'autorizzazione delle rispettive marche produttrici.

Per quanto riguarda ads/banner di cui alcuni altri parlano io non ne vedo, ma forse perché ho sia adblock plus sia noscript per Firefox abilitati:-).

Quindi secondo me lo puoi usare a patto di aver dato loro una e-mail secondaria

ciao amici,ho due/tre domande da farvi (in particolare a Leo che so essere un estimatore di questa utile funzione additiva che ha lo scopo di proteggere da eventuali rischi durante la navigazione): vorrei sapere innanzitutto se WOT (Web Of Trust)è utilizzabile anche con il browser Opera (e magari anche con Maxthon).Dai miei gugulamenti non sono riuscito a capirlo.
La seconda richiesta è la seguente: uso da tempo il sito di filehosting "www.fileden.com" (tra quelli free che ho collaudato è l'unico valido e l'unico che permetta di caricare video in formato .swf , oltre a tutti gli altri formati, anche di dimensioni considerevoli) ma proprio WOT lo segnala come un sito pericoloso. Ma a seguito della amena lettura di poco fa, mi sono un pò spaventato. Mi sa che non è il caso di continuare ad usarlo. I was trying to use PDFCreator to print to PDF ... but the damn thing Chokes big time ... so I? have to try LAKJIN's software suggestion.

As far as Archiving Online I ain't crazy about it since I have lost a big chunk of my info that way!

with firefox you can get Save Complete Saves a webpage completely, providing a better alternative to the flawed built-in save functionality of Firefox. and FireShot it save as bmp or jpg so on,clipmarks firefox & IE http://clipmarks.com all are free.

AFAIK, GAOTD never posted such a limitation. What browser are you using?

Hey gownk, save yourself some disk space and money spent on consumables. Check out Evernote.com. You can get a free account which allows you to save all kinds of stuff on line or if you prefer, there is a desk-top client. I use it all the time and haven't bumped up against the 40meg per month bandwidth limit for free accounts. There's a bookmarklet to go with IE or Firefox that allows you to highlight stuff on a page then use the bookmarklet to tag the information and transfer it to your account.

I periodically have the same problem. I also like to save the comments, particularly for software I download. The workaround I use is to print to pdf.

gonwk.. I really cannot understand why in the world you want to save the pages, or for that matter print the comments pages? Makes no sense to me. Perhaps you can explain WHY you need to do this? If you really need to this, perhaps you can highlight, copy, and paste into notepad??

Sorry,gonwk, I can not reconstruct the error you are reporting. I copied and pasted the whole and parts of the page, I took several snapshots with 3 different tools, I archived the page and converted it to .pdf. My printer did not lock up and I haven't got to reboot.
Please check on your side of the cable.
I do not think the GOTD-team has locked their page, and if they did, they may do it; it is their site.
The GOTD-project is a great opportunity for us users to get commercial software for free - that's why you are here and that's why I am here. Constructive criticism and wishes for future programmes are appreciated by the GODT-team. Making demands is IMHO not appropriate.

I have no idea what you are talking about but it seems you want to print the comments from each GOTD correct? If a normal print is not working, why not take a screenshot and print that?

FastStone Capture should do the trick. Use the scrolling window capture tool. Then in the editor just highlight the section you want, save it, and print it.

Well I do not speak on behalf of GOTD or the developers - but I believe I do understand the way GOTD works and the reasons and conditions why a developer would offer their products "for free".

The giveaways are a form of marketing, providing users with a licensed copy of a program for a 24 hour period. After that 24 hour period, the software will continue to run, but it can no longer be installed or re-installed.

That's the way the offer works.

If the limits were removed - undoubtedly the software would be treated by some users as freeware, continuing to be passed around and installed freely - and there would be little reason or incentive for many to consider supporting the developer (by actually registering the program).

If the developer wished the software to be released free of charge and without the time limits on installation - they could just release it as freeware on their own website.

The point is - the giveaways are commercial software that require a registered (ie. purchased) license if you want to reinstall the software. With this you also get support (who will help you reinstall on your computer) and the latest updates and improvements.

If GOTD simply provided a site to download free licensed software without any limitations, I think it would be safe to say that the giveaways you currently have would not be available.

In my opinion, the reason why a software company would offer a giveaway is

1. For advertising reasons. For 24hours - their product is essentially "front page news" on a busy site for people love software.
2. Offering a program that (at their choice) is locked to a single version, without any obligation for support
3. New registrations and customers.

I think the outcome of all this - If you are worried about losing a program because you find it to be so useful or entertaining - then the developer deserves something for writing the program and offering it to GOTD (so you could find out about it).

Surely the programmers/owners of the giveaway apps are aware that from time to time most pc's need to be cleaned out. (OS needs to be reinstalled or the dang thing just crashes and everything is lost.

Would it be possible to request a "backup copy option" from these programmers/owners that are offering their programs? They of all people should recognize the need for being able to back up files for future re-installation of programs.... even giveaway files.

There has to be a way this can be done.

It is a condition of the giveaway that programs need to be activated & installed before the giveaway for that program "expires".

At this time, once a new daily giveaway commences, GOTD has no support for the activation or reinstalling past giveaways.

I strip and reinstall A LOT(every 40-60 days)Is it possible to download the giveaways to a CD and keep reinstalling the ones I like? I am a "dangerous intermediate" with regard to using the Lptp. You know, ''a little knowledge is a dangerous thing....!'' I have quite a little knowledge, HA! So instructions would need to be clear and reference the actual item or description to be useful to me. Can anyone help????
