The final game race around the world requires a password to download????? I'm too tired to read through all the indformation on the website, so it may be something simple.

Today's game is an excellent platformer titled Runman: Race Around the World. This is one of my favorite little indie series of all time. I didn't have enough room to list this title along with the other Runman's, but as you can guess we also have the other Runman games to download today. As an extra bonus, Samurai Smackdown is being thrown in as well. Without further ado:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RunMan
RunMan is a rather simple platforming game in which the screen scrolls from right to left and you make your little RunMan jump and slide to avoid objects in the game. The longer you live, the faster RunMan becomes and the quicker the objects come. It's a great little time waster as there is no story behind the game or any driving force to make you play it....other than the need to outdo your previous score. I highly recommend the game just to kill 5 minutes, or 30.
_____________________________________________________________________________
RunMan Unlimited
This game is about as addictive as they come. Very short and seemingly simplistic run and jump game. It will suprise you with its difficulty, though. It is one of those rare games that make you want to continue to press the up arrow key.
What's it about ?
You are a little star-shaped fellow who is some sort of crazed daredevil. You start off running, ducking, and jumping over and under obstacles that continue to come at you faster and faster.
Eventually you find yourself hang gliding and freefalling your way to victory. That is, if you have incredible patience.
Lots of fun, but very nerve-racking. I suggest downloading this if you want some cute finger-twitching fun.
RunMan's Christmas Adventure
Santa Clause is MIA and only one can save Christmas! Guide RunMan through a snowball fight, ice skating - to the extreme, and a flight through the sky in Santa's sleigh. The whole package brings fun, excitement, and a big helping of holiday cheer!
Controls:
Mouse = Aim
Space = Shoot
F10 = Fause
F4 = Toggle Full Screen/Window
F5/F6 = Save/Load
Esc = Exit
_____________________________________________________________________________
RunMan Going Coconuts
Like the other RunMan games, this one features the same agile RunMan character (now with sunglasses) that must complete a set of looney minigames for as long as possible to achieve a high score. This time, he's stranded on a desert island and he needs to run, jump, surf, and thwack crabs by spinning a giant mallet around.
Gameplay
RunMan may sound fairly basic in gameplay based on my previous description, but actually it features some very original elements that make it unique and fun while smoothly done. In the first stage, runman jogs along the scrolling level automatically, and all you need to do is jump at the right times to avoid obstacles. However, you have two kinds of jumps, a long low jump and a brief tall jump. Weird or simple as this may seem, it's very occupying and difficult to get the hang of it, and you find yourself restarting as soon as you lose so you can beat your last score. Later in the game, you get to avoid sharks on your surfboard and try and hit jumps for points while also clobbering sharks in the air. All of this crazy cartoony gameplay is done quite well, except for a couple things- the midis used in the game cause it to freeze for a few seconds when they loop, which throws you off completely and unfortunately can't be avoided. Also, when bashing crabs with a huge rotating mallet, things can occasionally get stuck on each other and look quite awkward. Otherwise, there's nothing that stands out as wrong in the gameplay of this RunMan adventure.
7/10
Graphics
The author of the RunMan games uses a quite daring graphics style that turns out working quite well. Nothing is straight or symmetrical, instead, things appear to be drawn by someone fairly uncoordinated, so they look scribbly and basic. Bright, lively colors decorate the screen, and the basic style allows for really cool animation. Unexpectedly, the scribbly style works very well and has become something to look for in RunMan games. As another reviewer put it, it causes the game to feel like some 4-year old's deranged coloring book fantasy. My only real peeve is that now and then, low quality rotations will reveal jagged or pixelated edges. Otherwise, I was very pleased with this game's appearance.
8/10
Sound
While not original, the music used in this game is wonderful. It captures and enhances the atmosphere brilliantly and really adds a lot to the game. The mood of each tune is ideal, and each song is admirably well chosen to fit the situation. The sound effects, few as they are, are the same way. Somehow, they don't get annoying, either. Nice work in this area.
9/10
Replay Value
More or less, you'll want to keep playing every RunMan game quite a bit until a new one comes out, because of its simplicity and the lure of being able to surf eventually. Unfortunately, I found that after I had covered all the stages, I had little will to go back to it any more. So the trick is to take awhile beating it, and you'll want to keep playing and playing and then hopefully another RunMan game will be released.
7/10
Overall, this game scores almost an 8. But I'm feeling nice enough to round it, and it won't let me give a decimal.
Highs: Agreeable gameplay, good use of graphics and sound to create a very cartoony atmosphere, addictive, very smooth learning curve
Lows: Some gameplay flaws, and a strange lack of motivation to keep playing after it has been beaten
~Via Gamemakergames.com
_____________________________________________________________________________
Samurai Showdown
Samurai Smackdown has no story. Samurai Smackdown has no plot. Samurai Smackdown has no character development. But really, who cares about them anyway? It's a kick*** game!
Obviously the main character of Samurai Smackdown is a Samurai. And that's pretty much all you know about him. The object of the game is to deflect incoming attacks by savage Ninja. Controls couldn't be simpler. Simply press the arrow key to block in that direction. This easy system is surprisingly fun, and you'll find yourself being drawn back to the game whenever you're bored. It is quite a challenging game, though, and you'll find it will take all of your skill and reflexes to do well.
Graphics are simple, but of excellent quality. There are no glitches at all, and everything fits perfectly with the game. Simply put, these are some of the best visuals I have seen in a Gamemaker Game. Elegant and stunning.
Sound is also simple, yet fits beautifully with the overall gameplay. The word "unobtrusive" comes to mind.
OSamurai Smackdown is a brilliant game. Perfectly suited for coffee breaks and any other time you have a spare minute. I downloaded it two months ago, and I still play it regularly. All in all, Samurai Smackdown is like a cigarette. It looks simple and innocent, but its addictive as hell and... Well, okay, at least Samurai Smackdown won't kill you if you try it out.
RunMan's Monster Fracas
RunMan's Monster Fracas is yet another installment in the RunMan series, in which you must save everyone's favorite star-like creature from getting eaten by a humongous monster. If you're a late-comer who has never heard of the series, then you have two options:
1. Go in the corner and cry about it.
2. Play the games and get caught up like a normal person.
Now, one of the first things I did was go look up the word "Fracas". It is defined as "a noisy, disorderly fight or quarrel; a brawl". Doesn't that have you ready for some fun?
Graphics
RMF sticks with the graphics-style of its predecessors. While the graphics are simple, they are also original, appealing, and fit well together. Several fine touches are noticeable, including how RunMan kicks up dirt when he jumps or slides, the day to night transformation, multiple jumping animations, and a bar that shows how close the monster is to digesting you.
Sound
There is only one word for the music: interesting. Actually, the music could probably be described in many ways, but interesting covers all the bases. The music consists of a dude whistling while playing a banjo. There is no way I'd ever listen to these tunes outside of the game. Just not quite my style. However, they set the frantic-happy mood RunMan is known for quite well and manage to be entertaining in the process. If you happen to hate the banjo, though, there is a handy music toggle option.
The sound effects fit in well with the game. They are all well-chosen and well-placed. Unlike in many other games, the sounds in RMF actually add to the game, rather than taking away. If the sound effects bother you for some reason, you can also toggle the sound.
Gameplay
While the gameplay in RMF stays true to the series, it also provides a few changes. RunMan now has a reason for participating in his usual marathon: survival. If he goes too slow, he will be eaten by a hungry green monster. Instead of automatic movement, you now control the speed at which Mr. Man runs. You can also use sliding to increase your speed when going on a down-hill slope. In the previous RM games, hitting an obstacle ends your mad dash. Now, while colliding with obstacles will slow you down, helping the monster to catch up and snack on you, they no longer instantly end the game. Unless you fall into a pit, that is. RMF has a large variety of obstacles, and the random terrain makes the game experience different every time you play. The basic arrow-key controls make the game simple to play, but do not subtract from the fun in any way.
Final Thoughts
RunMan's Monster Fracas is a great addition to the RunMan series, making progress without changing too much. It is an addictive little game that has found a permanent place on my hard-drive. This is definitely a game worth checking out, even if you are not already a RunMan fan.
_____________________________________________________________________________
RunMan Race Around The World
Run through 35+ levels across 6 unique and preposterous zones!
Complete ridiculous feats of speed to earn shiny medals!
Unlock 4 lovable secret characters and probably some other stuff!
Colorful, bright, crude, colorful graphics!
Classic tunes courtesy of masters like Robert Johnson, Louis Armstrong, Blind Blake, and more!
You can't die!
This is by far the crowning jewel of the series. This is almost brand spanking new with prettier graphics and better sound quality. If you don't decide the games are for your, at least check out the site below because it is rather comical. There's an excellent video of the trailer on the site as well.
Today I have a few games from the same developer: Satan Sam. The first game is a puzzle called Vertix. The second game is a platformer called The New Satan Sam. The next game is an action/strategy game about catching chickens called Shikun. The last game is a shmup called Titan Omega Revalations.
________________________________________________________________________________
Vertix
Vertix is a little arcade style game. The player controls a red orb with the mouse, the aim is to get the blue orb to the flag whilst avoiding anything red (this includes the mouse). The blue orb is affected by gravity from each planet as well as the mouse! Holding down the left or right mouse button will either attract or repel the blue orb! Good luck. It’s quite difficult too!
This is actually a pretty hard but addictive game. I suggest giving it a shot, at 2mb you might as well.
Download Here!
________________________________________________________________________________
The New Satan Sam
Sam has awoken into a strange land, his last memory being an attack on his village. Sam must venture into a strange world overtaken by an army of strange creatures to discover the truth about his home land and himself. Super Satan Sam is the same as The New Satan Sam but with a higher quality soundtrack and includes a guide. Featuring 10 worlds, 127 levels, loads of enemies, weapons, 14 bosses, and all that for grand 2D adventure. Read everything about it here!
Wow talk about a great little platformer. Definitely give this one a go and I recommend downloading Super Satan Sam due to the higher quality.
Download here!
________________________________________________________________________________
Shikun
Shikun has been quite a mad success. It all began one day after school, walking home me and my mate Tom saw some kids trying to catch some chickens they accidentally let out. So we helped out and a year later my girlfriend said this would be a fun game, low and behold! It was! Shikun even scooped a 9/10 rating on Gamehippo.com which is nice. The aim of Shikun is to catch chickens using 1 of 13 characters, each with their own stats that affect the game type, be it either a strategy or action way of playing. There are 6 worlds, each with their own obstacles stuff, so hey… enjoy! Oh and there are 3 difficulty settings, a secret minigame and very secret game mode completely different to the regular way of catching chickens.
Ok so this is by far the most unique game of the lot. It's a fun game with a small download. If you want to just try it out, there's a demo available on the download site.
Download here!
Today I have a platforming shooter game for everyone titled Iji. I've had much fun with Iji.
The following (Including the images)is taken from the author's site:
Iji is an action-packed strategic platform shooter with a detailed story, large levels with multiple paths, powerful bosses and lots of secrets. There are alternate gameplay events, dialogues and scenes depending on what you do, a wealth of extras and bonus features, and seven stats to upgrade through a leveling system. Iji herself has superhuman strength and abilities, and can crack Nanotechnology, use her enemies' most devastating weapons against them, and be a pacifist or a killer - the story adapts to how you play. Soundtrack by Chris Geehan and Dan Byrne McCullhough, songs also by Tom Mauritzon and Captain Goodnight (and LifeForce, but their song was not originally recorded for Iji).
Iji has considerably higher system requirements than my older games, but should run fine on most gaming computers younger than five years.
For technical issues and possible solutions, please see the FAQ in the game manual. Note that this game is no longer being updated except for major bugfixes.
The controls are as follows:
Controls (redefinable):
Arrows = Move, jump, duck
Z = Kick
X = Fire
C = Use
Enter: Abort cracking / view detailed stats
Escape: Pause / skip chats / skip cutscenes
Keypad: Move the view
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 = Change weapon
Hold F2: Return to Main menu
Hold F4: Retry Sector/boss
Hold F12: Quit game
The game is only a 27mb download, but if you decide to download the music pack that would be an additional 48mb's. I think it's well worth the price of admission on this one and hopefully many of you will give it a chance.
Download here!
Return of Egypt is a great Castlevania clone in an Eqyptian tomb but everything is in Japanese. Reviews on other websites like to call your character Moses but the correct translation is Lanier Gadishu. The gameplay definitely feels like Castlevania; you fight powerful bosses, and obtain items to increase your abilities and learn magic spells. Magic spells include healing, a homing shot, a fireball, a lightning storm, and a secret ability. The fireball spell can also destroy spikes on the ground. I beat the game and never found the secret ability, but you can edit the save game in "config.ini" to add it. Spells are preformed using a combo, but it's tricky to do with a keyboard (it was designed for a gamepad). Just make sure that you press and release each key in the combo before pressing the next one. You never have to press two keys at once even if the picture looks like you do. The game is relatively short with only 5 bosses but the gameplay is great so I recommend it.
Story:
(I modified the badly translated page on Camain to be more readable & used Google translate on the names)
100 years ago, a great battle unfolded.
It awakes from sleep of a thousand years, the world is filled with chaos done by the devil, Herugain.
On a mission to master magic, to protect the people from the demon lord is Lanier Gadishu.
It is a fight between light and darkness...
The fight ended in victory of the light.
Even though devil's body was destroyed, it's destruction did not banish the demon's curse.
Then Gadishu sealed the wicked curse deep inside the palace of the ancients, the darkness was buried eternally and was forgotten.
But today.
After 100 years, death is spreading from the area where the demon lord was slain, Gadishu feels a disquieting wind.
The sign, it seems that the devil is returning again.
Worried, Gadishu hurries to return to Egypt.
Follow the signs back to their origin and remember, it is the palace of the ancients.
And entering it is to see what is through the door to the underworld.
Determined, Gadishu sets foot in the palace in the desert.
But it is almost too late, the fight between light and darkness probably will start again...
Controls:
Arrow Keys - Move
Shift - Attack
Ctrl - Jump
Space - Pause/open map
Esc - Quit
Save Game Rooms:
They are the orange rooms on the map. Each room that has a chair and a desk. Press up on the chair to open the save screen and fully restore your health and magic.
There are four options, use arrow keys to select.
1. Save Game. Left saves game. Right cancels.
2. Help screen (In Japanese so it's not really helpful)
3. Shows unlocked combo moves/spells
4. Quit Game. Left quits game. Right cancels.
Delenn13  Maybe you can help with a problem I have?    I am sticking with Evernote 2.2 as I tried to convert my 2.2 database into the new Evernote and failed miserably.  Besides I know just what I'm doing in 2.2.  However, the reason I haven't upgraded to Firefox 3 is because at the time the Evernote plug in wasn't available and I have worried since that it would only be for 3.0 anyway.   Would you know if Firefox will still install the Evernote 2.2 plug in (with the wavy lines as opposed to the 'elephant' representing the latest Evernote)?
Sorry to take days to get back to this thread, still having major computer/net issues, so I am only able to spend a short time on the laptop each day.
Good idea about Evernote, Nola. I use it a lot but never thought about just making a Game section. I do have the folders and sub folders also.I have some of them when it first started in Evernote plus in Taboo. Not to mention in folders..some just as shortcuts(love Deskcut for Firefox). Having a bandwidth cap can be a pain at times.
But they could quit for a week and I still wouldn't be caught up. Yes, g@rgoyle's list is so impressive..just like all the games I get from all of you.
OK..Now it's my last post..LOL
You're not, Nola! In fact, it's a almost a necessity here to keep all these wonders straight. I really need to get even more organized, as I truly forget what I have. And g@rgoyle's list is a classic. Especially when you "mean" to download things and forget to... it's a must! Whew. If only I had the time to try them all. So of course a lot are "on hold," but shall be gotten to... eventually. In fact, the guys could hold off a little and post one game at a time, if they'd like, or just post on certain days and we'd still be happy... but there's no stopping them! Lol! *&:-D
Hi Wizz, I have separate folders for you all too, not because any of you have 'better' games than the other, just because one folder for all got toooooooo big, so this was an easy way to split it up.   Guess I'm as funny as midori, lol.
And Midori, sub-folders isn't so silly - I am seriously considering 'Platform Games', 'Arkanoid games', 'Puzzle Games' etc, etc.  Although I'm seriously impressed with g@rgoyle's weekly synopsis which lists not only the games but also the 'genre'.  At the moment I use that when looking for a particular type of game to install and play.
I also use my trusty Evernote to list all game descriptions and download links - also under each of your names!   Now tell me I'm not anal, lol.
Hi, wizz... but of course! I started out with whiterabbit et al, but soon realized you needed individual folders. And soon you'll all need sub-folders. :D And no... Jade Empire has been staring me beguilingly in the face, so I put it under a stack of papers. Alas, I came home to a truckload of work, but that's good also... as work isn't always "there" as the games are because I freelance. But humbug to it. :b I haven't even had time to wear my hat.
Just curious here midori...do you actually have 3 individual files for our games (one for rabbit, rO, and myself?) Also, have you tried Jade Empire yet!?
Great games here rO, can't wait to try Bombing Run. I love hard games...hate them but I love them. =D
Here are the last few games that I wanted to post from Hempuli. FIG is a lemmings-like puzzle game where you lead a brainless guy through levels collecting stars. Bombing Room is an extremely difficult platform game. Jump On Mushrooms and The Mushroom Engine involve platforming and a bit of puzzle.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Floating Islands Game
FIG is a puzzle game where you lead a brainless guy across an island to collect stars and reach the goal flag. To do this, you have to solve puzzles that involve manipulating the environment with the mouse. The levels are not in no order of difficulty, there are usually a few easy levels followed by a harder one. You can skip levels so if you get stuck, you can just go to the next one. Each level also has a bonus blue star that you can find to unlock secret levels. I highly recommend this game.
FIG is a lemmings-like puzzle platformer hybrid where you guide a brainless guy trough 35 islands by communicating with the environment around he guy. My best game so far. Features also awesome music made by Johan hargne, and ending music made by Nawby. The game comes with a tutorial, so do not worry if you at first don't understand what to do!
Download (36.5 MB):
http://hempuli.com/FIG/
Alternative Download:
http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=7279
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bombing Room
Bombing Room is super-difficult platformer where you have to avoid getting killed while collecting green orbs. Each level is filled with numerous enemies and traps and their only desire is to kill you. Be prepared to spend lots of time dying and restarting each level before you finally complete it. You luckily have a sledgehammer that can be thrown to defeat enemies and activate switches. I only recommend this if you like playing hard games.
Finally something that isn't purely a puzzle game! Bombing Room is a platformer, that resembles Jetpack (Adept Software, 1993), Tekkyuuman (Ikiki, 2007) and maybe a bit of N (Metanet Software, 2005). The idea is to lead a lonely sledgehammerman to freedom by collecting strange green orbs. The game features a level editor, and many campaigns.
Controls:
Arrows: Move
Shift: Jump (Hold to jump higher)
Ctrl: Release sledgehammer
Ctrl + Y: Change controls
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jump On Mushrooms: The Game
Jump On Mushrooms and The Mushroom Engine are what I like to call a backwards mario games. You'll see what I mean when you play it. The Mushroom Engine below is an updated version of this game so you don't really need to play the old version. Also, when you finally get to the title screen wait for a bit and don't quit the game for a bonus.
This is an experimental game I created in 2 days just to try out the idea. The game is rather glitchy and ugly, since it was done in a hurry. The Readme contains all the needed files, so make sure you check it out!
Download (6.14 MB):
http://hempuli.com/mush/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mushroom Engine
Nicklas 'Nifflas' Nygren was interested in the mushroom concept, and wanted to remake the game, this time with his awesome skills. I of course helped him a bit, but he did all the really hard work. The game also has some very cool musics, made by D_Fast!
Basically this is the same game as Jump On Mushrooms: The Game, but it has more everything, and also a level editor. Once again, all the important information is in the Readme.
