Do you know why people hate movie studios? Why, increasingly, they're driven to download content illegally, even though they're perfectly willing to pay for it? Because of crap like this:
Which turned out to cost, all things considered, about 300 damn dollars for a $30 Blu-ray, no matter how you spun it. Totally dumb, totally anti-consumer.

Here's another difficult to find movie or tv series:

the movie or series is about a city that moves through time, each time the monsters attack. The people of the city wear special suits, and they have arm computers.

When you are outside the city when the monsters attack, and the city moves through time, you just missed the bus.

The city can move back and forth.

any ideas?

Anyone with a familiarity with airplanes and physics should have a field day tearing that plot apart.

Now, somebody name this one -
Robert Redford(?) in a diamond heist movie set in a desert (sand dunes) and a chase scene using either old Rat Patrol jeeps or dunebuggies (with a Ma Deuce mounted in the rear, I think)

I saw this movie... lol.

I cannot remember if it were a tv movie or a movie movie.
It was about a big plane, a passenger jet, which, after takeoff can't get it's nose down again, so it keeps climbing...

there are some oil riggers on board, and in the end they are needed to help grab the hose from the tanker plane, that fills them up with water, to weigh them down enough for the nose to drop.

so they land in a big splash of water after they open the nose wheel...

that is all I remember.

please tell me one of you remembers what this is and where I saw it!!??

Bubby, did a Google search on "Bubby" and got a whole lot of old Jewish grandmothers. Following your plot, I think you may have a difficult time using the "diet and exercise regime" excuse as a reason for the change in appearance.

Is this the movie where he stalks and then murders each Jim one at a time, becoming the new "Jim Killeen", convincing the family and friends of his victim that the change in his appearance is due only to a diet and exercise regime, before hitting Google again to find his next victim?

Now I think of it - the movie "Highlander" could've been much easier to locate the other Immortals - just Google them... "There can be only one." :P

Lots of programs out there to convert between video formats. The real trick to get converted video to play in a hardware player (the kind most people have and use next to their TV) is generating the .ifo and .bfo files and packaging everything into the appropriate AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS directories with the .vob files broken into appropriately sized chunks. Almost all of the so-called video converter and DVD creator just do the transcoding, and leave you with a video file you can only play on a PC. Clone DVD and most of the other DVD copy programs will take the original DVD and use the original .ifo and .bfo files when they reencode to a different size or play time, but trying to assemble a playable DVD of transcoded .avi or .mp4 videos downloaded off the net is an onerous task that usually takes a day or two with a high-end video authoring program....half an hour to set up the files and define the chapters for a menu, and another day or so to yet again re-encode the videos for that program's particular liking. I have used VSO ConvertX to DVD with some success on shorter projects, but it just takes forever to transcode, and doesn't seem to like to handle more then a half dozen or so video clips at a shot. NeroVideo does a great job of transcoding, but doesn't generate a playable DVD (although it's .mp4/h264/Nero proprietary .mp4 output looks great and is the fastest I've had the chance to use). I usually end up tying up my main machine for two or three days to run SonicFoundry/Sony's Vegas Video and DVD Architect with main concept's or CCE standard video codecs. How about a simple (drag n'drop, or a simple pick list of files), fast (under 6 hours, with a typical runtime of 2- 2 1/2 hours for a DVD5), easy to use (has preset optimized values for NTSC and PAL standard and HDTV screens, has advanced menu options for setup of temp, output folders, burn device, etc.)DVD creation program that really does what they all promise. Drag - Drop - Convert - Burn - Playable DVD ....all automagically done by the software ;) I shouldn't have to play recording engineer to get 20 minutes of Naruto to play on my TV when relaxing with friends.

I'm looking for a video converter that'll convert videos for Zune. Also looking for something to convert .ifo files..

I downloaded GOTD "All My Movies" in December and the program has worked fine. Until today. Both the desktop icon & start menu message that program has changed or changed location - do I wish to delete ?. After installing "Elprime clock" Sunday Feb. 4 from GOTD - ALL incons on my desktop changed positions. "All My Movies" worked prior to installing the "Elprime" Clock. I am unsure if any other programs have been affected. My question is - Has anyone else experienced these changes ? Any ideas how to recover "AMM" ? Has the "Clock" made any changes to anyone elses desktop ?
