just an aside - i did read more thoroughly your description of the partner program, and it states, albeit not too clearly, precisely what I said above and how you responded. So I want to apologize - you are living up to what you promised. But I will restate my belief that you would entice more people to link to you if you actually reciprocated in kind. And why not do so anyways? One hand washing the other, that's how things should work imho.

Some suggestions - make a sidebar "see who's a giveawayoftheday supporter!" and have blogs cycled through there. or do the partner thing, but pick a 'partner of the week' to highlight. or have a separate partners page where people linking to you are sorted by 'top click-throughs' that kind of thing. Just a few ideas that pop to my mind and would probably get you at least a few links.

at any rate, i won't persist in this thread further, but I also won't be linking to gotd from my blog/podcast any longer either.

@admin - please let me know if I am understanding how this works then:

1) you sign up for partner program
2) you are given some code to paste into your blog/web/whatever
3) if someone links FROM your blog/web they WILL see your feed
4) if they have not ever visited your blog/web, they will NOT ever see your feed info

If this is true, there needs to be discussion on changing this. It is a very one-way and dead-ended partner program. If I offered my space for your link the same way, it would cancel itself out!

The whole point of having space on another website/blog/whatever is to drive new eyes to you - not to create a circular path!! I trust you can see the logic in my disappointment with this process.

Admin - what I feel should be set up is described above in my post on 1/16. Please respond with thoughts or plans for making your partner program a legitimate and useful program, or explain to me the errors in my thinking; I would love to be educated in this if I'm missing how it is intended to benefit me!

thank you for your time

Guys, sorry for long delay before answering, we tried to solve tech problems as much as possible.
We just checked the partner program engine, looks like it works ok. To check it do the following:
1) clear cookies previously set by giveawayoftheday.com.
2) visit http://blog.freedownloadscenter.com.
3) click on Giveaway ticker in the right top corner of the page.
4) look to the sidebar: right below the Game Giveaway ticker you should see partners block.

lol 'promote what they are selling?' -- wondering what I'm selling here, as i don't charge for my podcast any more than listeners are charged to tune their FM dials in if they listen locally. You might also note that I have done absolutely zero to mention my show or anything about it except in reference to how I have fulfilled my responsibility to the admins and their 'partner program.' You only know about my site because I have been repeatedly asking for a response on the promises that gotd made to me, and you went to the trouble of clicking through my profile - and i do sincerely thank you for that! I hope you give us a listen too ... :)

anyways, like I said, I'm totally uninterested in a flame war, I'm not sure why you're so worked up about it bill, and if anyone would like me to stop posting all they have to do is convince an admin to give me a response, any response at all.

What I call spamming is keeping it up for a month and also posting the same on the other topics like:

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/255?replies=10
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/77?replies=2

http://techtalk.podomatic.com/

So it seems to me working to me regardless what you might think. Nor have I seen you post about anything else here. That is what spammers do! As all they do is to promote what they are selling and that is all you are doing. Repeatedly.

also, not interested in a flame war with ya, just trying to get response from any admin, and find out if other members are interested in this so-called 'partner' program. please restrict comments here to that topic so as not to confuse the matter. thanks!

@cpedley - so what you are saying is if someone links from your blog/podcast/web, they will see your logo. Wow, if that's the case, that is unutterably lame ... anyone that I send over here (and thus obviously knows who I am already) would then see a link _back_ to my site, where they just came from, but no one who doesn't already know about my site would ever hear or find out about it.

Not only not worth the trouble but bordering on false advertising if you ask me. what does anyone else think about this? Or an admin perhaps?

Admins, here's what should happen -
* you sign up for the partner program dealio,
* put the link up on your blog/web/pod whatever,
* after confirmation from the admins the logo or links uploaded by the partner go into rotation on your site, somewhere reasonably prominent like in the right hand upper corner or something

By support, I just meant GAOTD's so far empty promise to "... have your own feed and logo featured on our page!"

But if you look around, there's nowhere on the GAOTD site that anyone's feed, podcast, logo or blog is mentioned. I've been asking for a few weeks now just to know if they plan on actually doing what they say, but haven't received even a courtesy "we're working on it" response.

When (if?) they do put the feeds up I'll mention the site again on my show to help cross promote - although we're only a local radio station, we have a coverage area of over 200k people so this should drive _some_ traffic here I would think!

Just posting 3rd or 4th time now regarding the partner program. States in a grey box, bold big letters right on your front page "Tell your blog or website visitors about us and have your own feed and logo featured on our page! How? Click here to find out!"

OK, I've done that, put through all the info and my logo. Have not heard any word back from anyone at GAOTD re: this program, putting links up on your site etc.

Love the site, don't mind promoting it, but if you're offering to support back you need to either step up to the plate or stop making empty promises - not much of a partnership so far as I can see ... at the very least send me an email or respond to one of my posts letting me know what the deal is?

OK, well, I clicked and found out, created an account and added the links to my podcast/blog page (and happy to do so by the way - this is an awesome site), and have mentioned you on my radio show as a cool site of the week, but notice that there is nowhere on your pages where you feature feeds or logos ... so curious as to how this will actually work? or when? or am i missing it somehow (and if it's that easy to miss may i suggest making your supporters more apparent).

Thanks for your reply - and happy holidays too!
