Joking aside (actually, that's less of a joke than you might think), the ringtone argument was made by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) earlier this year when it sued certain mobile carriers in the US in an attempt to force them to fork over royalties every time a customer's ringtone is played.
Even though the carriers were already paying for download rights to the songs, ASCAP argued that each ring was a
"performance" and therefore those download payments weren't enough.

Actually, I'd not really bothered with the thread, partly because apart from my weekends spent writing game reviews I've rather neglected these forums apart from the word association game, though I've actually just checked it out - despite funkymom starting it 6 months ago - I may even have checked it out previously, but my memory is appalling due to the morphine I take. 'Hello, George!', said the Catholic Priest, 'What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?'

George the greens keeper replied, 'Yes. That's a group of blind fire fighters. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last
year, so we always let them play for free anytime.'

The group fell silent for a moment.

The Catholic Priest said, 'That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.'

The Indian Doctor said, 'Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's
anything he can do for them.'

The Chinese Businessman replied, 'I think I'll donate $50,000 to the fire-fighters in honor of these brave souls'

The Policeman said, 'Why the **** don't they play at night?'
