All that the email thing is that they send you emails for their software. They do not give it to any other vender. I have tested this with other emails that I rarely use and the only email I get is from them and only for promotions.

I have no idea about the promotion though. I own nero and updating is pain. I have to install the trial for the updated version of nero.

Now I know I go to my spot on nero and download and the updated version from my email, but at that time it was a learning process.

@ HappyPerson: no, there is no way to install Nero "free" without Ask toolbar.

You may use HiJackThis, if you use Internet Explorer to try to remove that vulnerable and privacy risk toolbar.

Or if you use Firefox you may create a new profile
