Paint Shop Pro 10 was also on vnunet a couple of weeks ago FREE. With updates when needed. All good

There was one promotion to get free psp X that was real, but is over now.
It was for Lexar customers,( after it ended they are now offering MediaOne standard free and MediaOne plus free by Trialpay offers for Lexar customers to.)

This was genuine offer it was a link to corels site, a "special partners offer"
So maybe they will do again? keep your eyes peeled :)
(I use psp 9, it works ok on Vista, and corel did not buy psp to make it better, they buy the competitors.)

punkinbee59......I haven't used Gimp myself....don't need it....I use PSP.....I just happened to hear about it, but it's free....why not just download it and check it out? Sometimes the only way you really know for sure is to try it for yourself.

is Gimp similiar to PSP7 or better? I'd like to make cool fonts and animation, along with tweaking photos. If Gimp doesn't have that feature, I'd like to know if there's another open source or free program does all that, and is better or higher than PSP7. I know--a tall order, but is it possible to get the bells and whistles for free? LOL

When you google The Gimp http://en.lmgtfy.com/?q=gimp, you'll find lots of tutorials, plugins, filters... and even other versions/GUI like : gimpshop.

I can only second what Whiterabbit has already said. I have asked for help several times and ALWAYS gotten excellent, precise, and a variety of answers (yes, I know that is a little contradicting, but sometimes there are more than one right answer). Everyone here is very friendly and not afraid to say if they are not sure, but always seem to know the answer and have sites to back them. Also, there are days and days worth of information and free software here. The only downfall is sifting through the days and days of post to get to all of it, download it, and then find the time to try it all. Though it is fun trying!

You'll usually get a good answer to many questions about computers, software, games and many other things.

There's already a wealth of information to be found in these forums, though in many cases it'll take a little time to sift through the thousands of posts. The search engine works though and you can usually find what you're looking for by using that; or ask one of the many volunteers for help; it wont take long before you'll find some of those dedicated volunteers have come back to offer their help. :)

The GOTD project is a nice thing, but Corel, or Adobe, or Microsoft or one of the other super players won't give their super toys away. They don't need this way to promote their programmes. Well, wonders never cease. :)

Nevertheless, now and then GOTD has great programmes from well-established companies and unexpected gems from new developers.
Maybe you'll even find in the forums a freeware graphic programme, which is just what you need. We have discussed that topic several times before.

I just got a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium

however, I installed my favorite graphic program, Paint Shop Pro 7--10th Anniversary Edition that had both graphic AND animated programs.

I'd like to create fonts, but some of the tutorials for really cool fonts are for PSP 8 and higher.

I stumbled on this site, and to be honest, I'm a bit leery that I can get a free download of any PSP applications, and the one I'm very interested is the Corel PSP 12.0. One question about this program: does it have both graphic AND animation programs like PSP7?

is it possible? do I need to register if I download a free copy? this is just too good to be true! LOL
