FWIW, Johnny Appleseed sowed a couple of FREE E-Book seeds over here.

Sorry, had 2 browser windows open at once, put the main post on the wrong book thread.

Don't know if this is an idiosyncracy of just my PC, but when I open the zip, it buries the full PDF in -
"C:\Documents and Settings\****\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for ThePhotoshopAnthology.zip"
I moved it to my PS Tuts Folder.

(not recommending anything, just passing this next observation along fwiw)

Even if you're not interested in Photoshop, SitePoint dangles free downloadable PDF PREVIEWS of each of their many other software and web design books.
[Under each title, look for the Free Preview button in the bullet box]

Who knows, for the cost of a throwaway addie, you might find a tip, tweak or hack lurking in those Previews. I d/l the Firefox book preview and have to admit, they let you see a helluva lot more of a book than you get when accessing an Amazon preview of a book.

Danke nochmals, Ender.
Though I don't have PhotoShop this e-book is quite useful. At the first look, I would say that I'll find some good hints and TUTs in it.
Good find.

WoW! thank you ALL for the information on e-books. My e-book library consists of Old Time Radio Shows (which I love) and subliminal healing/reiki/hypnosis. I can hardly wait to try out all of the links you folks have posted.

I will also pass the info on the the Veterans Hospitals. There are so many housebound vets that try to find ways to stay connected and participating in society; the e-books and games for the visually impaired (posted by BuBBy) will be welcome additions to the healing arsenals being developed for our vets.

A spiffy Navy salute to all who posted links for these e-books: Luna1, Stamba, WeAreWatching, SillyShaley and Aftabkashif; another for Freebird for making the suggestion!

Hi freebird31,

It just so happens I'm currently working on an e-book featuring a fanfic (fan-fiction story) written by a friend of mine. It's a continuation of the, now axed, TV show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Even if you're not a fan of the show, you'll still enjoy the e-book itself, as she's one heck of an author (after reading an early draft of it, I knew it would make a great e-book). Drop by my website for more details:

http://www.WeAreWatching.co.nr

Or feel free to e-mail me & I'll let you know as soon as the final version's released (should be within the next few weeks):

contact.wearewatching@gmail.com

NOTE: Spammers WILL be reported to the online authorities & further action will most likely be taken.

I've got huge plans for more e-books currently "in the works", covering everything from fiction to internet marketing.

All the best,

Lee
If the ebook is given here (over GAOTD), how do you think they could protect it?
Most of them are in PDF, DJVU or DOC format. How to protect it from copying and emailing?

I would really like to see some good e-books as a giveaway. I mean, one can have and use only so much software or games. Maybe we can diversify or add with all kinds of things? I wonder what other people would like to see given away besides games and programs?
I would like some stories, adventures, detectives, etc. Maybe also instructive things like "how to" books and programs. educational stuff, maybe even scientific stuff. I bet you lot can think of lots more categories. Comments please?
