not that that does much but unlock the one app, but for what it's worth it works fine (slow, like all re-encoding editors) on win2ksp4. good enough.

video remaker would be nicer, but then speed isn't prized over fancy tricks by most.

Mine still runs registered.

my AVS audio editor just went into demo mode.... any ideas?

You activate this way:

hit 'start' then 'programs' then 'AVS4YOU' then 'Activation' paste in serial and allow communications with server etc and voila it's activated.

I'd check for you - but apparently my "monitor software" won't let me run any AVS products. Not too sure what my "monitor software" is exactly - but no doubt it runs more reliably and is a lot more useful than anything I have seen from AVS thus far.

I don't need to think too hard, which piece of software is headed for the recycle bin.

What you need to do is click Activate from within DVD Copy itself, then a dialog will appear asking you to enter the registration code. However, I don't know if this is possible outside the 24-hour period. It may be if you still have your registration code.

As I understand, we are entitled to free upgrades for a year, so you may be able to contact AVS and ask them? GAOTD says no support or upgrades, but we are getting the upgrades, maybe we can get the support too!

I succeeded to finally get AVS DVD to Go 2 (Beta) registered.

However it still does NOT close properly and does other strange things.

In the discussions within the AVS DVD to Go 2 (Beta) page, people stated that it had been corrected.

However the 3 files I downloaded from GOTD at different times are the exact same length and I installed the most recent of the 3. I waited throughout the day until I knew there would be the latest version.

it's not possible anymore to download AVS DVD to Go 2 (Beta) from GOTD and from AVS 4you.com it still says version 1.5.

Where can I get the latest updated version?

I know, but I still can't get it to activate. I tried several times yesterday when I downloaded and installed it.

Candyred32, the AVS audio editor giveaway ended hours ago.

Any idea's on this one, cause it stops responding when I click the activate button.

After clicking "Setup" I get an error message stating 'Giveaway period for this software is over, please check our web-site for a new giveaway'. Web-site shows there are over 5 hours left to d/l and activate.

Mine will not respond when I try to activate.

WB BillW50, yes true if you have a lot of codecs installed, it might be it's searching for them.

Bit like too many fonts installed lags your system.

Another thing it is doing is my guess, is looking up all of the codec one has on the computer.

Yes, it takes a bit of time, once it has started make sure you don't want to check for updates.

Their ringtone maker is a hanger also.

I've just installed and registered this GAOTD.
I get very long delays when I'm trying to use this.
After I run it, it takes a minute (yes, 60 seconds) to go from screen 1 to screen 2
It also takes the same time from clicking the start record button to when recording
actuallt starts.

During these waits, the CPU maxes out. This is on a 1.2GHz 512MB W2K+sp2 6GB free

anyone else having the same problem?

You are welcome, JEG88, there is always something new to learn with these darn computers, isn't there, and I am not done yet!
AHHH! the Esc key, the easy way out, "wishful thinking", I always give it a push first, just in case it will get me out of a jam, but, unfortunately, it never dose if the progam is frozen.
The Escape key goes back to the old DOS days, by hitting the Esc key, it would bring you back to the command prompt, usually canceling or aborting the current running operation. It dose almost the same thing now , but in Windows, it brings you back to Exit Screen of a program or the Desktop instead.

Sorry, JEG88, that I did not see your post sooner. If you have Windows, Right click on a empty area on your Taskbar at the bottom of your Desktop and in the pop-up Left click "task manager", under the application tab, highlight the program you would like to stop, by Left clicking on it, then go to the "end task" button at the bottom, Left click on it, That should shut down any program that will not shut down by normal means. You can also get to the "Task Manager" by pressing 3 keyboard buttons at the same time they are: (Ctrl, Alt, Delete). Every once and a while your computer may freeze up so bad that you can not even get to the "Task Manager", and you will be forced to Re-boot or in other words restart your computer.
