Where is a pretty cool game. It runs pretty well even on a computer without a dedicated graphic card. This game is also modable. If you unzip Media.fb with the password "Doski", you can find all the resources it uses, such as models, materials, and map data. Change it how you like! (Remember to zip it back up with the password again.)

Sure midori, but instead of "Do Not Disturb" sign, hang a "Flee in Terror" sign on the door. ;)
Ok, it's disturbing but not that disturbing. It's mostly implied.

Sorry for not posting this sooner. Whiterabbit isn't feeling very well so he asked me to post games for the next few days. Hopefully he'll be better by Thursday. How, Where and Why are short art games created by the same guy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How:

How is a 2d game where you play as a little girl who has to pick up these red balls and put them in a well. Fake wells can also appear to make it more difficult to find the right one. You have a stamina counter that decreases when holding a red ball and if it reaches 0 you collapse. The red balls can be eaten to regain stamina but don't eat too many or you'll faint and the game's over. If you do faint make sure you replay the game for a surprise.

Download (11.2 MB):

http://www.altiz-studio.com/Mike/?p=117

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where:

Where is an amazing 3d maze game. Just explore the maze and try to reach the center. It's short so it should take you less than 10 minutes to complete. This game a great atmosphere and graphics. I highly recommend it.

Download (8 MB):
Note: Only compatible with Windows XP and up.

http://www.altiz-studio.com/Mike/?p=118

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why:

Warning: Some of the images could be disturbing

Why is a picture puzzle game. You can change black circles to white by moving the mouse over top of them. Circles can also be destroyed by clicking on them. There are 10 different endings to find depending on how you play the game. Some of the endings can be pretty disturbing so don't play it if your easily disturbed.

Video:

Thanks Midori...
You can read the *exclusive* full story of Susan Boyle at
dailyrecord.co.uk and even listen to "Cry Me River" in good sound quality.

About creating links.
Well the full credit goes to BuBBy who taught us the use of the Firefox addon called 'CoLT'.
(..amongst a lot of other things)
So if you're using Firefox you might be interested in CoLT .

Truly an amazing voice. There's also a YouTube audio of her singing in 1999 at a Charity fundraiser. The picture you see will be of the recent 2009 appearance with the 1999 audio in the background. It's an actual CD recording that was made and someone was prompted to release it because of the show. She was 37 then. Susan Boyle singing "Cry Me A River"...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5ETPG26ALE

Sorry, but you'll have to copy and paste in your browser! I don't know how to create the links you folks do. Whoops, it DID come out as a link... but don't know how to shorten them.

An Amazing Talent: Susan Boyle
Did you see this performance and did you hear this voice?

Susan Boyle Singer Britains Got Talent 2009 With Lyrics
I never watch these programs on TV, but if there is a chance, to see such a talent every 10th show - I will persevere in future.

I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high And life worth living I dreamed that love would never die I dreamed that God would be forgiving. Then I was young and unafraid And dreams were made and used And wasted There was no ransom to be paid No song unsung No wine untasted. But the tigers come at night With their voices soft as thunder As they tear your hope apart As they turn your dream to shame. And still I dream he'll come to me That we will live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms We cannot weather...

I hope that Susan Boyle's dream will come true.

Reviving Maizey's thread with a real time suck. Granted, it won't qualify as awesome or inspiring, but it's an online thumb twiddler that doesn't seem to fit under the other forum categories - animal, vegetable or mineral.

Johnny Appleseed just stumbled across a site called WORDLE that turns any text you enter, or the word content from any blog, blog feed, or any other web page that has an Atom or RSS feed into "art"... or at least a colorful word cloud.

If that's not enough wordplay, your next stop should probably be WORDIE, where you create your own word cloud(s) and see if your vocabulary is truly unique or surprisingly common amongst logophiles.

A truly fantastic and psychedelic beauty is Ambiquity, a fractal video by Michel Gingras. The video takes awhile to load, but it's definitely worth the wait. Be sure to scroll down the page to and click on one of the pictures on the right to see all of his Flickr pictures too.

(Hint: Start the video then immediately press pause, wait and wait and wait until the gray bar loads completely. Click on the full screen icon in the lower right corner. When in full screen view, press play. Wow!)

Think spirograph on steroids, booze and PCP. There's no settings or on/off button, so if you like a picture, you have under a millisecond to hit Print Screen to save it. Totally useless, but something a little kid might stare at for a few minutes - ColorFantasy

"Indeed, beautiful black and white photography doesn’t attract with its play of colors. Here close attention to composition, lighting, perspective and the context it is shot in are important. Hence, before considering the photos presented below please prepare some patience and time. This post presents some truly excellent examples of beautiful black-and-white photography."
