Finally Tuesdays games are here…. I apologise for the lateness, but as I’ve said to a few community members that I’ve finally fulfilled promises too, better late than never. There’s a good range of genres to be found in my selection for today. A cool point and click adventure, a bug orientated racing game, an interesting clone of the DOS based puzzle Gear works (which is windows not DOS) and finally a great arkanoid taster.

I’ll have some more games for you tomorrow, though technically they are actually today’s games. reverseOrder will also be posting his games tomorrow, so you’ll have a double bonus to look forwards to as you have today with wizard posting a great game from Vertigo games as well. (thanks Wizz). I’ve neglected to include my screen shots. I need to create a couple more photobucket accounts as they only allow so much bandwidth each month. I hate the images disappearing as it looks so shoddy, so need to create a few more. Which means I need to create some more emails as you can only use an Email once when creating a free account. You’ll see images appearing over the next several hours and hopefully by the time I post today’s games in the morning (or around lunch time, I’ll have all the images uploaded. It’s added a lot of extra work adding images, but I do think it helps to give you a better idea as to what to expect. I realize some of you have capped download limits out there so I’d hate for you to be downloading too many games that you decide aren’t your thing. It’s hard to give a global description to any game as we all have our preferences, and sometimes I may describe a game as fantastic, but in reality it’s only fantastic to me, lol. :) anyway, here’s today’s selection. Please do leave a comment if you decide to download, if only to say what you though of the game. Thank you in advance.

I've uploaded too many images to post below so though it would be cool to post a link to all the images. i've placed them all in the same folder, but labelled them, so you can see which images belong to which games. THIS link takes you to a page with all the images on. you can click on individual pictures to see a larger resolution image, though photobucket only allow up to 800 x 600 resolution images with the free account; however the size is adequate for the purposes of this post. You can also see all the images as a slideshow HERE, where you can see all the images in the highest resolution automatically. There is a slider to the top right of the grid page (where you can see all the images), which enlarges all the thumbnails to a respectably sized small image. :)

A point & Click Adventure developed by Dreamagination. Mistyann PM’ed me several days ago recommending this great little point and click adventure which was developed as freeware by Dreamagination. I noted that they have had bandwidth problems in the past when there’s been a run of downloads from their own download link, so, if you have problems downloading from the first lik provided below, use the second one which is unlikely to go down. However use the developers link first as I’m sure they would like to know the number of downloads that are made.

When a plastic surgeon is found murdered in his office the police are quick to apprehend a prime suspect. It is a textbook case – except the suspect didn’t do it. There is more to the deceased doctor than meets the eye. Much more.

The aim of the adventure is to lead private investigator Alan Baxter to the truth as an ever-increasing mystery unravels before his eyes. Follow clues to exciting locales such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York. Feel the vibrant style of the 1960s era and meet a fascinating variety of characters. 'Enjoy' a story that will keep you guessing until the end.

The game was inspired by the artworks of Josh Agle; this project tries to revive the buzzing and stylish lifestyle of the early 1960s. It was developed using the Wintermute Engine

You race against other Bugs, across 12 tracks. Finish in the top 3 to unlock a harder Championship. Improve your lap time in Practice Mode by racing your own Ghost. Each track can also be driven in Reverse mode.

A very complete game with 12 tracks, 4 difficulty modes, Championship, Quick race etc.. Each with Practice, Qualify and Race.
Every track has his own graphics and a bit of variety with elements such as tunnels, bridges and different textures.

In Practice Mode you can now race against the ghost of your best lap. There is one ghost representing your overall best, and another for your session best. Even if you choose not to display them, the ghosts of your best laps will still be saved.

The Gear That Works: (1.2Mb)

This is a Gearworks clone (see links to the original abandonware version below) Basically you have to connect the red cog to the green cog so that all the other cogs turn and you win the level. The game is virtually the same as Gearworks except the graphics are much improved and the levels are different. The levels get progressively harder (as you would expect in a puzzle game). This is an ideal game to play in short bursts; for example, during a coffe break at work, or if you’re like me, as a break from one of the big boys like Call of Duty or Crysis. :)

The following description was written by The Game Hippo reference <a href=" http://www.thegamehippo.com/game.php?Game=5828473">HERE. You can also get the latest version of the game from their site by following the reference link above.

The Gear That Works is a simple logic based puzzle game involving three different sized cogwheels, a start point, an end point, and no questions asked. The aim of the game is to connect the starting cog to the ending cog in such a way so that both of them are spinning. This can be made difficult due to gaps in the play board, spinning cogs placed in hard to reach places, and my favorite: accidental jams (placing cogs in such a way that they stop each other).

You can place cogs anywhere you like on the board and you're given three cog removals every five levels. Removals are handy, so only use them if you jam up your chain. The fact that you can place cogs anywhere and that you get a point deduction for every cog that isn't spinning when you finish the level adds a unique strategy aspect to the game.

If you're given a cog that isn't useful, you have two options: either place it out of the way or latch it onto a cog in a way that it won't hinder the rest of the chain. If you place it out of the way, then that cog won't be part of the chain and therefore won't be spinning when you finish the level, resulting in a point deduction. On the other hand, latching the cog onto the chain may end up ruining future moves if you choose a wrong spot.

As a side note, the music is about as simple and catchy as it gets. It got to the point where I left the window open just to hear it. I'm sure the majority will find it annoying, but I rather liked it.

In short, The Gear That Works is an addictive and simple puzzle game that's sure to waste some time during your coffee break.

Rival Ball: (3.89Mb)

Rival Ball is in the style of the classic old school arkanoid games, with decent graphics.

Destroy all the blocks on the level to pass through to the next. There are many bonus’s that will appear when some of the blocks are destroyed. These include guns, speedup, slow down, skull and bones, and all the other common pickups in arkanoid games. It’s only a short game with 8 sets of 3 levels each. I though it worth tagging onto todays free games. It’s more an intro to the larger game This is a free sequel to DX Ball 2. There is a commercial version of Rival bBall which I purchased (around 4 years ago)before finding this free version.

I loved DX Ball 2 (all the level packs that used to cost extra are now free if you own the full version game of DX Ball 2) and its sequel is equally as good to play. (I don’t regret buying it, though I paid a lot more money that what’s being asked for now) The commercial version has loads more levels and extra level packs (costs around $5 each and can be found HERE). There’s actually more levels in the demo version of the commercial version (32 in the demo compared to 24 in the freeware version), so it may be worth checking that out if you liked the freeware version. :)

Hi The Web Master,

If you have an Nidia or anATI graphics card Half Lif 2 - Deathmatch was being given away free of charge. There is a link somewhere in the games discussion forums pointing you to the correct pages for NViidia and ATI - look for te giveawaoftheday Steam group posts. I'm not sure whether the offer is valid any more. It's been several months since I checked. It's well worth installing if it's still free.

We've had some great evenings playing together as a small group. I'd loved to have seen more community members join as it was a friendly environment and we had some good laughs to. Let us know if you discover whether the offer is still valid.

Have a great quest. :)

W.R.

p.s. I'm thinking of setting up a few HL2 Deathmatch sessions (if you're interested let me know). I stopped the regular sessions because hardly anyone was joining the servers and it was getting a little exhausting waiting virtually all night for someone to join If I only knew when GAOTD Steam members were available it would make things so much simpler. :)

About the sound, WR, I could never get it to play on my old computer and wasn't sure what I was supposed to be hearing (which, all I could get what the Guardian's rant at the introduction of The Black Gate) and I've since downloaded all the Roland-MT32 sound packs and .ogg files (the directions for placement and usage are in each zip) and you're right, the sound is definitely amazing, very immersing and well worth the additional download. You don't really expect to hear birds chirping and the distant sounds of the sea and a grandfather clock chiming away but it's all there. While it may not be up to modern standards it's still amazing for a game designed to run on an "IBM or 100% compatible 386SX, 386, 486 PC System. 2 megs RAM, 21+ MB hard disk; 256-color VGA graphics; MS-DOS V3.3 or higher." :)

Additional sound files can be found towards the bottom of the page, under additional files not required. The Roland MT-32 and Ogg encoded music files are the ones to get.

Now, to journey onward! :)

Ah, I was in such a hurry to get the games posted (they should have been posted yesterday but I rushed the whole thing). The offending link was missing the ending to the code (i.e. / url] ) It's now sorted. I'm just about to add images now as well. :)

To BentlyTCow, yes I agree. They are fabulous games. I forgot to mention by default the Ultima VII games play in a small window. To change to full screen you first need to change the games resolution to 800 x 600 otherwise when selecting full screen it wont do anything. I found it confusing foer a short while, trying to change to full screen, until I thought to change the screen resolution before chking the full screen mode.

The Exult team have definitely done a good job on improving the resolution of the overall game. Even in full screen mode (which shows more of the playing area, as well s filling the screen), the graphics look good. These older games usually look very pixillated. I'm sure they have improved the sound a swell as there was a lot of depth to it from my system.

You'll find more Ultima games on the download page. They are earlier versions, but none the less, this was a great series of games. This one is well worth keeping in your library of games.

I'm hoping more enthusiasts will work on more of these older games. There are so many great ones out there that deserve to be improved graphically. (You just have to see what they have done with Monkey Island) I'm sure many of them would turn into block busters if they had the graphics and audio of today.

One of my favorite games from the early 90's was a game called Darklands; (you can find in via the games synopsis). The developers were working on a sequel that would have extended the playing area to include the whole of Europe and North Africa. It was never released (unfortunately). Even today the game has more depth than most RPG's that I've purchased.

The Ultima games are fantastic. Exult allows some nice graphical improvements to the old games and makes them easily playable on modern systems. Serpent Isle is one of the first *big* games I played when I was young and impressionable and boy did it leave an impression! I can't really think of another game that's just so free and open, except perhaps the Elder Scrolls games. You're spot on about it being almost too open as I recall getting somewhat lost without the guide book. As a side note, the Silver Seed portion can be done at any time (if I remember correctly) by using the necklace you start with. You can find something called the Ring of Reagents which lets you cast spells without using reagents, making it worth the trip fairly early in the game. One thing of note: Exult lets you double the resolution but that means you see more of the world than was originally allowed. To quote from the Exult home page,
"Using higher resolutions is considered cheating as you can see too much of the surrounding area. Since the game was designed to be played at a specific size, this can actually lead to plot-stopping problems; hence we will not fix any problem caused by your cheating! Don't say we didn't warn you :-)"
Also, I know I've repeated some of what Whiterabbit's said above but I think it's worth repeating!

Truly epic gaming and well worth a look if you like RPGs at all. Thanks for posting WR! I know what'll be eating up my evenings for the next few months :)

I’ve just found some excellent physX games, some of which I’ll be posting today. The rest I'll be posting a week Monday when it's next my turn to post. These will include games such as House globe, Equili Tower, Gerball, Rolling fury, Aftershock plus more.

There's an excellent project that has enabled some of the early Ultima series to be played on modern systems without having to resort to DOSBox. (which does pose problems with many DOS based games such as tinny audio/ no audio and sudden speed ups in the games you play. Exult creates an environment that stops these minor annoyances, makes it super easy to play your games once installed. Plus the Exult team have improved the graphics and audio of the two Ultima games (Ultima VII– The Black Gate and Ultima VII - Part 2 - Serpent Isle) that are at this time included in the project. The information for both these games were taken from the Abandonia games site.

If you want to see larger resolution images you can do so by clicking HERE to show all the pictures on one page, then you can click on the picture to see it enlarged; or as a slideshow HERE
I hope you like the following games. I think they all have their merits. The Ultima series was brilliant when it was first released and is still a great game to play, and now with the improvement, playing it in full screen, even on quite large monitors, it looks good. I only have a 23" monitor, and the game looks fairly sharp, wheras playing other old DOS games, the pixillation is usually very evident.

The two PhysX competition winners are fairly short games, but what you get for free is really good. Watch out for more in just over 10 days time (unless we don't have any game giveaways this weekend or next weekend. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flyhard (15.5Mb)

This was a entry into a PhysX competition a few years ago (2007). It won first prize. I’ll be posting more of the games from that competition when it’s my turn to post again (Monday 23rd November).

Use the cursor keys to fly the helicube around, and use the space bar to pick-up various items scattered around the level. The objective is simply to get to the exit. This task is made harder by the fact that you'll need to activate trap doors, switches and escape routes through the careful dropping and pulling of blocks and planks of wood. Certain doors only open when their pressure pads have enough weight on them, green gravity pads alter the direction of objects and all the time you must keep flying the helicube, with or without its extra weight cargo dangling from below!

The Judges Verdict on this game was: This is a quality game, no doubt about it, which is why we awarded it 1st Place. Flying the helicube takes a little getting used to, at first it appears to be quite unresponsive but you soon learn the tricks required to keep it in the air while ferrying your precious cargo around. The level design is great and the puzzles ingenious. A good variety of challenges present themselves on each level, and while some areas require careful planning, you never feel that the game is being unjust towards you. Graphically it's great, with a real sense of depth to the environment, and you are never left wondering where to go next. The only complaint we have in this area is that it's hard to tell which objects are part of the scenery (i.e. static) and which are dynamic physics objects.

You can download Flyhard HERE

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here’s another taster from the PhysX competition:

Crash Tester (17.2Mb)

This one reminds me a lot of the mini games you can find in the Flatout series, a racing game that involves you throwing your passenger out the front screen of the vehicle and throwing him towards different puzzles, for example you can see the dart board example HERE. The judges that said this was an unusual and original game obviously had never played any of the Flatout games, which are amongst my favorite racing games (You can get the first Flatout from good Old Games for $5.99) and the second one from Direct 2 Drive for $19.99 (well worth the price). The final one in the series Flatout Ultimate Carnage is basically Flat out 2 with improved graphics (not that Flatout 2 is rubbish, far from it, Carnage is just better), plus they have added an extra 4 cars to the races, so instead of racing against 8 cars you race against 12. I don't think the extra cost of the final game is worth it; whereas Flatout 2 basically costs the same as what an arcade game was costing just over a year ago. :) .

Here's a video of Flatout 2 HERE

I’d guess the developer got his inspiration from that game.

You play a crash test dummy who must jetboard down a ramp, avoiding the cones and other obstacles to get to the end, where-upon you set your power and trajectory and launch yourself at a giant dartboard. The more pieces of the dartboard you knock out, the better your score! You've got to love this game for its originality at least :)

Judges Verdict: This game has the usual degree of flair and polish that we've come to expect from Kenneth Bugeja, a long-time supporter of our competitions. The game concept is original and most of all, fun. You soon get to learn which angles provide the best aim on the dartboard, and as your crash test dummy soars through the air you can still influence its direction to a degree, by moving and nudging. It's not just about knocking out as many pieces as you can either. Each level has a different objective such as knock-out the bulls eye, or hit any red piece. Up to 4 players can take part and there are multiple camera angles, display and control options available. This is polished title and a worthy 2nd place winner.

You can download Crash Tester HERE

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve already posted a newer version of Ultima (VIII) see the games synopsis; but these earlier games are just as playable. You’ll find download links and information about both games that work with Exult.

Exult: (1.98Mb)

Exult is a project to recreate Ultima 7 for modern operating systems, using the game's original plot, data, and graphics files. It replaces DOSBox, and allows games to be played much easier, with enhanced audio and visuals.

During installation it asks for the paths where two of the Ultima VII games are installed. Once you’ve done that you are able to play the games with improved graphics and none of the vagaries that DOSox adds to the game play experience. None of the games nor Exult automatically place a shortcut on the desktop, so you’ll have to do it manually, but there’s only need for a shortcut to exult because it will be linked to both of the games mentioned below. Make sure you know the paths to both of the Ultima games otherwise they wont be incorporated within the configuration file within Exult properly and thus wont show up in the menu when you first start up exult

Commands (including cheats):

•	Alt +/- ...............Change resolution

•	Ctrl c .................Create Object

•	Ctrl d..................Delete Object

•	Alt g ..................God mode

•	g ........................Change Avatar

•	Alt i ...................Change infravision

•	Ctrl m ................Get 00 Gold coins

•	Ctrl t .................Next time period

•	Alt t ..................Teleport

•	a .......................toggle egg display

You can download Exult HERE

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ultima VII – The Black Gate (8.73Mb)

The black stone starts to shine. You know what it means: Britannia needs you! As you run to the back of your house, you see that there is already a red moon gate open. "What could it mean?" you think to yourself as you heroically step through the red mist into another world...

And so starts another adventure in the land of Ultima. A long time has passed since your quest with the gargoyles concluded and things have changed quite a bit; the user interface being one of them. This time you have a glorious full-screen view of Britannia and its inhabitants as they carry out their daily duties.

The graphics in this game are superb, although sometimes it might be a bit hard to see certain objects as they can be very small (keys for example). The world is now even more alive as people carry on with their lives cooking, working and sleeping. Each person has their own personality and you will see that most of them are important in your quests in one way or another. The world is also a little more intelligent in this game. You will not be able to just steal anything as your party members could get annoyed with you. Also attacking people in town could attract the town guard and then you’re in trouble.

It wouldn’t be an RPG without spells of some kind, and there are plenty. As in Ultima VI, you need reagents and a spell book to perform spells.

The sound in this game is also very good. I’m always amazed when such simple music can sound so wonderful and deep and keep me mesmerized for hours on end.
The game itself is very large and will take a long time to finish. You will have a choice of many side-quests along the way to solving the main quest and each of them can keep you occupied for ages.

The one thing missing from the game, in my opinion, is the character creation; which was brilliant in Ultima VI. You get to choose a name, a gender and a portrait. This to me is not enough as I think character creation is probably the best part about RPG’s.
Included in the download is the manual, copy protection answers and a map. Please read the manual to learn how to play the game and which keys are for what action.
The addon "Forge of Virtue" is included in the archive.

If you don’t use Exult the Optimal Settings for DOSBox are:
- cycles: 15000 so the game is not too slow or too fast.
- no EMS: type 'ems=false' inside Dosbox to disable EMS
Alternatively, run DOSBOX.BAT inside the game's folder which will set Dosbox to the settings above.

There's an alternative to DOSBox and that's Exult which will let you run Ultima VII (part 1 & 2) in Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc. You will no longer have the odd slow downs and speed-ups mentioned above with the added bonus that combat is slightly improved and you can run the game at higher resolutions!

You can download Ultima VII – The black Gate HERE

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ultima VII - Part 2 - Serpent Isle

The serpent pillars rise, and as your ship sails between them, you are no longer in the ocean but on dry land - the land of Serpent Isle.

Another adventure in the world of Ultima awaits, except this time, instead of Britannia, you are in a less familiar land called the Serpent Isle. Following the events of Black Gate, the Avatar must travel through the serpent pillars to follow Batlin to an elusive land that holds strange customs, powerful allies and deadly enemies.

A continuation of arguably the best Ultima in the series Ultima 7 – Serpent Isle only improves on what was already fantastic in Black Gate. The graphics are very similar to Black Gate with various improvements. The most noticeable being that the paper doll (inventory) now actually ‘dresses’ the Avatar and his party in what you give them. Also, the character portraits are improved, they are bigger and more detailed than in Black Gate.

There are also numerous other game play changes made in Serpent Isle. There are many more ‘types’ of Avatar to play. Whereas in Black Gate you could only choose between one male or female Avatar, in Serpent Isle you can choose various Avatars. This is purely a cosmetic change but adds just that little bit more to the overall Ultima experience of the Avatar actually being you. The character interaction is greatly improved as well, there are more diverse conversations between the Avatar and the inhabitants of Serpent Isle. In addition to this, there is a much wider range of character models and scenery so you can really tell which town you are in just by looking at the people and buildings.

One other big change is that the world isn’t as free and open at first as it was in Black Gate. You may now be thinking ‘But I liked being able to go wherever I wanted to in Black Gate!’, but don’t worry as the world becomes completely open after you have done the first part of the game. If anything, one slight problem with Serpent Isle is that when you get full access to the world, it becomes too open ended and you can get lost quite easily at times. Things that I should point out while talking about travelling the world of Serpent Isle is that quite a few travelling methods have been removed. There are no horse and carts, no boats (I know I liked them too =) ), no magic carpet, no moongates and no recall stones. However, before you start ranting about not having a way to travel quickly, they have been replaced by the unique Serpent Gates which are a bit like the moongates in Black Gate, only this time you can choose your destination. However, this can be done only after you have opened that particular gate (don’t worry it will make more sense when you play =P ). You may think that taking away the various means of travel will spoil the game, however it doesn’t. The lack of travel is explained when you play and having boats and magic carpets just wouldn’t fit in with the story properly.

The actual game play of Serpent Isle is rich and fulfilling, faced with the deep character interaction, a great storyline full of twists with a fantastic climax and tons of side quests to keep you busy for as long as you could possibly want. All this accompanied by the beautiful but deadly world makes Serpent Isle pull you into the game and really does put you in the role of the Avatar.

Overall Serpent Isle is well worth playing even if you aren’t great fan of Ultima games but is a MUST for any Ultima fan. It stays true to the classic Ultima feel but gives you the chance to explore a world different from Britannia. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey through the serpent pillars and Serpent Isle (along with Black Gate) and it stands as my most favourite roleplaying game ever.

The addon "Silver Seed" is included in the archive.

You can download Ultima VII - Part 2 - Serpent Isle

Thanks for the info Spiritwolf. This is one of those occasions when I don't test all the games I post. It would have been a few days of a job at the very least. When I started the project last year I only ever intended to post the links and maybe a small amount of basic info on the game, but as time has passed, the posts have got more in depth and now with the addition of images, I spend far too long on each post. I'd much rather be playing my games, but it's become a bit of an obsession and I'm still enjoying hunting for games and posting them here.

Tankfully since wizzard of Oz and reversOrder have been helping it's given me a lot more time to do other things. Shortly after starting the project last year I totally neglected one of my admin duties over on one of the Battlefield 2 sites . I didn't visit for nearly three months and when i finally found the time to visit to see what was happening I discovered the site had gone. (Well, moved to a different place, lol) In fact I've neglected virtually all my other pet projects since starting this project.

I hope you've found what you're looking for.

I'd really appreciate it if you could post details of any of the Mahjong games you've found that are still freeware and worth downloading. Thanks in advance.

Update, just saw the site, it's one I've been to several times before, and although the site owner has done a nice job of presenting a great collection of links for a wide variety of OS, that site badly needs to be updated. A number of those games are either no longer free or as with the Moraff mahjongg games claimed to be freeware, open only on a page for downloading their trialware instead of true freeware.

Gekko Mahjongg is trialware, not freeware. It may have been freeware at one time but it sure isn't now!

While the pysol collection looks nice, I never could get it to properly install and open on either XP or Vista.

The Great Mahjongg is a weird freeware that traps your cursor within the program window so you can't do anything else at all until you exit the program.

Most of the Mahjongg games as well as other games that I've downloaded from the Caiman site have been really nice freeware games.

Overall, Camiman is one of the best freeware games sites I've seen.

It's also clean, you can download and play their games without dealing with such things as your cursor being trapped in the game window or having your browser open every time you close the game, etc.

I do hope Games GAOTD will bring back Mahjong Epic again. That game had 100 different layouts, beautiful graphics, etc. Another nice shareware that would make a good giveaway is Kyodai Mahjong, quite a few layouts, as well as a number of different games bundled in the Mahjong package, and decent graphics (although Mahjong Epic in my opinion, has the most exquisitely beautiful graphics of all the mahjong games I've tried)

As an avid Mahjongg lover ever since Kristianix games gave away Mahjongg Epic back in June 2008 (I wish they would offer it again, mine on the Vista laptop stopped working right & I would love to have it back on the laptop too!) I'm DELIGHTED to see a freeware mahjongg feast. I'm going to go check out the links given here, and hope that the freeware mahjongg games are still in existence and NOT tied to sites that demand you have connection to use their games or come bundled with malware that pops open your browser windows etc. I also hope they are truly free, not 40 minute trialware masquerading as freeware as so many so called "freeware" mahjongg games are being presented on many freeware sites, with the nasty little time limited trialware surprise not revealed until you install it and open it.

May these truly be freeware, I hope!!!!!

Mahjong games:

Today’s game is basically Mah-jong. There are many open source projects out there and a great guy has spent a lot of time collecting information and download links and placed them altogether in one place. This has been posted elsewhere in the forums previously, but I can’t find the post, and I’ve posted details of at least a couple of the Mah-jong games available from this amazing list. Greylox first pointed me to this brilliant list earlier this year. I’m not going to even bother listing any of the games available, suffice it to say most of the have the title Mah-jong or one of the many different was of spelling it in the title, plus a ver other iterations such as Shanghai, Tapei and a few unusual ones such as The Ace of Penguins and Take away. There are 90 games available for free, most of which are Freeware plus a couple of open source and even a few abandonware ones. Several of them are for palm /pocket PC’s :) Here’s an image of part of the Mah-jong page:

You can get details and download links for most of these games HERE. The owner of the site can’t guarantee that all the links are still valid, but he’s said he can post new links if you contact him. Or you could just Google the name of the game and you’ll probably find other download links. :)

Here are several images of some of the games you can find in the list. Most games have at least one image included as well as a download link:

I can completely understand your feelings lady gray, my fiance's grandfather is a holocaust survivor and she is uber sensitive about stuff like that. I had to beg her to watch Schindler's List and she thanked me in the end, because she went to a jewish school that didn't cover the holocaust so she never really understood just how heartless nazis were.

I didn't notice it either, wrabbit... but then I was just scanning down a line of pictures. (but yeah, that fridge popped out at me... lol) But if you're super sensitive to certain things you tend to notice them, even if they don't pop out. And yes, the swastika is offensive to me also (I should hope to most!), but not if I see it used to create a setting, as in a movie. But your feelings are well understood, graylox.

I didn't even realize the symbol was there. just shows how observant I am. i'll take it off later. am just about to jump into a game of L4D with a few players.

Then off to bed before hydro in several hours time. I'll get another image to replace the one with the Swastika. Sorry if you were offended Graylox. :(

No, midori, I'm referring to the first. I can not tolerate Nazi symbols, though I understand that this is not meant as a glorification.

Sorry, wrabbit, to hear that you still are having problems with the PMs. Therefore I sent you an email. Please have a look into your email account. I know others have similar problems with the PMs, maybe you can compare your experiences and help to find the glitch.

Hi, wrabbit... first of all, thanks for the games! Will be fun to play the precursors to the snazzy stuff out there now. Tho I was gonna remark on that lovely third picture (fridge) *gag* and that may be the one graylox is referring to. *&;-b

Hi Graylox, it says I have 17 unread PM's but I cannot find any of them in my list of PM's. Very Strange.

If you think some of them are a little inappropriate i'll happily delete them? I can always replace them with others.
