If you turn it down during installation, they set the shortcuts to push you every time and if you say no, the game won't run. If so i presume you will have re set your home page. did this affect starting up the game, or are you not getting it to start at all? I'm just thinking that if you have reverted to your default home page, it's stopping the game from working. I know with most of MyPlayCity games the game wont work unless you have your home page set to MyPlayCity and that you have the toolbars up and running. Turning them off blocks the games. After installing two of the most recent FreeGamesPick games I found that to play the game you had to leave ALL the boxes checked, which meant having 2 toolbars installed and your home page hijacked (which is what MyPlaycity do with most of their games now). If I tried to uncheck any of them the play button woul grey out and not allow you toplay the game. </p> <p>Hi Dawn, </p> <p>Some MyPlayCity games do work without having to install anything, but not many of them. I think MyPlaycity started out the same as FreeGamesPick, in that you didn't have to install any of the junk they ask you to now, but as time has passed they have increasingly used this technique to force you into using their services (<em>which basically pays for the game</em>). Couldn't help overhearing the conversation about 'cleaning house'....hee hee. Looks like I'm gonna have to do the same with my Compaq computer. All of a sudden, I suppose just out of the blue, the mouse stopped working except for my games, and my keyboard won't work on that one, anymore. When I click onto the address bar, or one of the search bars the mouse stops working, as well as the keyboard. Everything just stops working, and I have to reboot the computer. I don't know what happened, but something did. I have tried all kinds of things to resolve the matter, including trying out that keyboard and mouse on my other computer. They both work fine on it, so I know they're not the problem.</p> <p>Speaking of Hidden Object and Match 3 games, I have backed up what I could onto my little flash drives. Have you noticed how there are only certain genres being given away on these excellent free games sites. Arkanoids that have waned massivley in popularity over the last three or four years are well represented as are Space Shooters (which are also no longer popular. Match Three games started to lose ground to Hidden Object games over the last few years and now we see a growing number of match three games becoming available for free. I wonder if point and click adventures will take over from hidden object and time management games which still rule the roost when it comes to frequent clones being released. You just have to go over to one of the biggest distributor/developers - Big Fish and see how many of those types of games are being given away. I reckon in a year or so, we will be seeing Hidden Object and Time Management games amongst the growing list of free games from the likes of Gametop and Freegamespick. </p> <p>I have six months worth of game credits with Big Fish, but I've got enough Hidden Object and Point &#38; click games to last me years. And apart from an arkanoid (Strike Ball 3, all the games i've Bweta Tested at Alawar I'd never have bought. Hardly anything else appeals to me, so I'm building up a massive stock of game credits. It looked intriguing from the screenshots. I'v been playing some of my older games this weekend. All my computers have now had windows reinstalled. I've been tidying up all the extra hard drives I have on each computer trying to make some sense of all my folders. I have games on every disc, in program files and elsewhere, so I've been slowly copying them all to one place as I have with previous giveaways that don't need registration entries etc. It's a time consuming job, but entertaining as I'm playing a lot of the games (well at least a level or two) as I transfer them. </p> <p>I'm also deleting those that are no longer required. I have around 4 to 5 TB of disc space on my internal drives so there's a lot of space to cover. </p>
