Appreciate the follow-up, ds5929. That the software itself was in english hinted at mirrored pages somewhere.

My other alias is "Rabid Spider Lemur, Website Skimmer." I couldn't cover 1000 sites per day if I climbed down out of the canopy to read most of them. :-) Even pausing long enough to cursorily peruse that site caused my tail muscles to cramp up.

Oh, and on the french version of the Sweet Home website, either delete the 'fr' from the end of the site's URL, or click on the national flag for the language you want. They're in the upper right corner of the page, and the British Union Jack for the english page is the one at the left of the line of flags.

The 10mb version of Sweet Home 3D is for Apple computers. The file type used can't be read by a Windows pc without being converted, and I was unable to get the conversion program to run.

FWIW, on a separate page, download.com also offers Sweet Home 3D version 1.6, but doesn't explain why the "newer" version's dramatically smaller. (only 10.38mb vs 25mb for the older 1.5 version.

Perhaps that's clarified (anyone speak French?) on their home page?

There's an on-line JAVA version, too... scroll halfway down the page to the Lancer Sweet Home 3D launcher. Worked on my WinXP. The site also offers links to additional (apparently free) zipped 2D and 3D models both by SweetHome and other companies... all sorts of furniture, textures and plants.

That led me to the very cool "free for personal/non-commercial" Terragen™ software.

Can't vouch for any of these, but it seems you've options for construction and landscaping, both free and shareware, at -
http://www.freesoft411.com/freeware/3d-landscape.html
http://3d-landscape.qarchive.org/
One of them is made by Ashampoo, a name familiar to people on GAOTD for offering free or deep discounts.

Inexpensive ($12.95) shareware makes the bold claim of being Your Complete 3D Landscape & Garden Designer.

@PMcOuntry: This seems to me exactly what your looking for. It's a fully functional FREE home designer.

Software Description:
Sweet Home 3D helps you to design your interior quickly and easily: draw the walls of your home upon the image of an existing plan, change the color or the texture of each room, and drag and drop furniture onto the plan from a catalog organized by categories (windows, doors, living room, kitchen), in which you can import 3D models created by yourself or downloaded from various Web sites. All the changes made in the 2D plan are simultaneously reflected in a 3D view, and you can navigate in it either from an aerial view point, or from a virtual visitor view point. Finally, you can improve your home plan by adding dimensions and texts to it, print it along with the 3D view, and export to OBJ format the objects of the 3D view to import them in other 3D software. Sweet Home 3D is available in English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, German, Spanish, Swedish, Czech, Polish, Hungarian, and Russian languages.

Follow this link:

Sorry if this isn't what you want.

Normally $29 but free for a limited time?? (they don't say).

I don't think this will convert direct from DVD Movies but video files to audio it should be fine - and it is free for a limited time (they mention May 25 - but I think that is the start rather than then end date - so I'm guessing until Jun 8)

Is there any software out there can extract songs from movies? Many of the soundtracks coming out these days don't even include half the good songs from the movies, and I'd love to be able to extract them directly from the movie and make my own soundtrack. Any ideas?
