I needed to reformatt HD C. I had all my games installed on HD F. After Cwas complete, all my alawar games except for the ones that I had downloaded from Reflexive reverted to trial versions. I had also made back up cds before the formatting and the same alawar games still didn't work for me.

One good thing about this site is that they do repeat softwares fairly often which gets a lot of whiners complaining but makes me very happy. My reformatt didn't help any of my problems. I decided that my system was just too outdated to keep up with the demand and I bought a new pc which is due to arrive within the next week or so. I am looking forward to the repeats!

nobody backs up system state? even ms backup does that! that should save most of the activation keys...

I believe you lose them. Activation is only good for the initial 24 hours.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but if I have to reinstall my computer, meaning completely windows etc or have a problem later with one of the giveaway programs can they then be reinstalled or do we lose them?
