Step 1:

Step 2:
On the signup page enter in the email address you use for GOTD. It must be the same for this to work.

Step 3:
After confirming your email add an image to use with that email address.

ATTENTION: The screen name you choose for this service DOES NOT have to be the same one you use here on the forums. It can be if you want but if the one you use isn't available then simply choose another one. The only thing that has to match is the email address you use. I'm SURE that a Master listing of Freeware / Open-Source applications would be a terrific time-saver for many computer users, if it were possible to compile. My opera browser had saved the page when i quit yesterday and when i reopened Opera the forum page with the link and code was still available to me, so I have made screen shots of it. Dont know whether i am going to make any further use of it.
If the software looks and works well, i really wonder why that thread had to disappear. May be software vendors are not allowed to giveaway their wares on the forum (without the sites permission). May be it is going to come back as a giveaway some day. Just idle speculation!

It could be a very useful tool, but I'm a bit leery of installing it, as the registration info is a bit confusing, and mainly, the "site" suggests it'd have to be done during "store" hours, ie:9-5 mon-fri. (Bejing time) . . . is it Monday there yet? or Friday afternoon?

Hi folks, I copied the info yesterday and downloaded the software, ran Zonealarm on it for virus and spyware. Seems ok, I haven't installed it yet though.

Spam. That explains it. There was even a thank-you post from a person who apparently grabbed the offer. Their home page looked credible enough! Well, you never know. There can be no one more convincing than a con-man

It was probably seen as spam. The ID was "ayrecovery", and that was one post out of 2 they made. Both were to promote the same software.

Whatever happened to the thread that gave a free code to the software tool ayrecovery? Its been here less than a day and its missing ! I cannot find it using search. Was there any illegal posting on that thread? (ofcourse, come to think of it, I did post a question on that thread)

It's actually a great reference source too, because all the books are searchable, and even many of the ones still under copyright will show relevant snippets, that can be several pages long. Great for research projects, or just general reference.
