Haven't seen you over on the Forums at the "Farm" lately, your input on Ultimate Flower would help!
There only seems to be about 5 of us doing anything...what we have hasn't been updated, should be, because of bugs in the operation...we are almost having to re-write the whole file system ourselves!

Hi Michelle; yes Reflexive do make games (all the Ricochet series was made by them as well as the Big Kahuna Reef games) though like most of the bigger Arcade developers they also sell most of the other developers games as well. You can see which games they actually developed themselves here:

http://www.reflexive.com/index.php?CAT=Search&SEARCH=dev%3AReflexive+Entertainment&PAGE=GameList

IMO it's well worth getting, especially if you're into farm sims. The developer listened to the community when he first gave this away early last year. He went through over 20 revisons in a short space of time on the strength of comments made by the giveaway community. there's a Magic Farm ultimate being beta tested at this very moment, so I'd definitely hold off buying the original game until it's been released.

I'm pretty sure I seen this game on realarcade. I didn't know how interesting it was so I got something else.

I recently had a problem with Farm Craft got with a credit at realarcade and they said they have located the issue that is causing the problem and they will update the program and they are expecting the update at any time. I thought they went through the company that made the game to do that, maybe not?

I'm pretty sure reflexive also makes games White. I got Ricochet Xtreme from them the one year for free.

redbomchele3,

I'll PM you a link to the developer (once the kids are in bed). The problem buying from places like reflexive are that you'd have to use a patch released by Reflexive. You could ask the developer for a stand alone copy provided you can prove you've bought the Reflexive game version. The guy who developed this game is a great guy so I would think he'd be only too happy to help.

We're beta testing a new vesion of Magic Farm at the moment called Magic Farm Ultimate

I am in need of a slide show program and wonder if this issue has been resolved with this program and company or am I better to stay away totally from considering it?
I look forward to comments, thank you.

On this one, when I tried clicking on setup, my McAfee popped up a trojan message and wouldn't allow it to even proceed! Tried a couple of times, then figured if it's that hard to install, it's not meant to be. I'm happy with Microsoft's Photo Story 3 for Windows, that works great.

Indeed, there is a trojan in the installer. AVG detected it on both the standard installation and the Windows Vista "install this program with recommended settings". Oh, well. Also, in response to "copmom"'s post, the new AVG 8.0 isn't as bad as 7.5, it takes less of a toll on your system, and you never have more than two items in the Task Manager (avgtray.exe and avgscanx.exe are all).

Any Antivirus that does real time detection/scanning will have one or more background processes running.

It's how well those processes have been written that determines how much you notice the antivirus. The perfect antivirus program you could install, and have it continue to detect at the highest levels - but you are left unaware of any impacts on performance on your computer usage. No major slowdowns, popups, or other interference getting in your way. In my opinion, unless there is a problem the Antivirus cannot handle - it should be invisible.

The problem is with the AntiVirus developers not the software developers. There is no Virus present - it is because the description of what a virus looks like isn't stringent enough - so completely innocent programs get detected as having viruses.

Sometimes this can happen after a piece of software has been installed for months or years - an update of the installed AntiVirus program/definitions suddenly detects a previously safe program as having a suspected virus. Clearly the developer cannot predict the future changes made by the antivirus software.

Some AntiVirus programs are better than others, they have fewer of these false positives. The past track record, I have found that AVG is almost always one of the culprits detecting perfectly safe programs as a "detected virus" (which is really a "suspected" virus).

9 times out of 10 - a report of such a problem to the developer will result in them contacting the antivirus developer to retest and update their definitions, releasing a more "accurate" definition of what the "detected" virus really looks like, that doesn't include the false positive application code.

You need to remember - from the viewpoint of the AntiVirus developers - it is not always easy to accurately describe what a virus looks like, when there are so many variations and you cannot test against every available piece of software.

To date I have not seen a reported piece of software offered as a giveaway that has confirmed to be infected by any virus or trojan etc. In 100% of the cases so far the problem has ALWAYS been a problem/deficiency with the Antivirus program - and reporting to the developers the problem usually gets repaired with a subsequent AntiVirus definition update.

Wow, what a difference from the last time I played this. I decided when the updates started to arrive almost on a daily basis to wait for awhile. Well, there was a big and noticeable difference in the games play from the last time I played. So far, most of it in my opinion is positive. I like the fact that the day has been expanded slightly and the choice of flower bouquets increased (I think that has changed as I only remember three, but I may be mistaken) Overall, after playing several levels I was happy with the overall changes. Is it me though? has the game become easier to play?

I'm not sure whether Oleg will be updating the game for now as it's been released over on a couple of the big games arcade sites (as mentioned above), though knowing what Oleg is like (a perfectionist - meant in the nicest possible way) I'm probably wrong about that. I'll pop over to the forums Oleg started sometime soon (when I get time)

Much appreciated Mr Fishy; I was being lazy. There's so much to sort out on my computer at the moment (including trying to maintain three nations from last weekends giveaway as my children have shown little interest, lol)

It's now available over on Divo games as well so it looks like Oleg has decided to release the game as a final version. I'll look forwards to playing it just as soon as I've finished work on Flower Quest and Destiny Architect.

I'm missing my daily fix of a new arcade game, but in some ways it's a good thing as I've hardly played most of the games I've kept.

As mentioned previously, somewhere on these forums, I used to buy one, two and sometimes more arcade games every day for some time following my accident as I found it helped to distract me from the incessant pain. The legacy of that and the 13 months that the game giveaway project has run (taking off two months for the summer break last year) has left me with well over a thousand arcade games, (400 of which are giveaway project games) many of which have hardly been played apart from an initial look see. Yeah I know, it's a little disgusting when you consider that one of those games would pay for a weeks worth of food in some countries of this world. My excuse though was that at the time I was heavily sedated with a concoction of drugs, so was a little doo-lall, lol. At least my kids have a great choice of games. Not counting the $70 games I've bought I've been a lot more sensible with my arcade game purchases this year having bought only 5 or 6 games, with one on pre-order called The World of Goo, a brilliant physics puzzler based game that's going to take the arcade games world by storm once the beta testing is concluded. I tested one whole stage and it's brilliant. You can check out some screen captures I took of the game by following the link below:

http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n61/Whiterabbit_01/World%20of%20Goo/?albumview=slideshow

I did post a link to a Freeware version of the precursor to this game called A Tower of Goo, which you can find by following the link below. The freeware game is just a basic level that illustrates the basic concept of the goo world. Try it as I’m sure you’ll be hooked. The actual game offers so much more though. Building bridges, and overcoming obstacles using the goo balls to build structures that have real world physics, so you have to consider forces etc. Anyway, my post has grown ito one bifg waffle (due in part to my drugs as they do make me wander often, lol.
